I was just recently told that people bend their wastegates or actuator whatever its called and it spikes the stock boost to around 12 psi or something like that???
I wanted to know the pros and cons of this method please, and thank you!

Why not just make a mbc for 10$? if you are really that broke you probly dont need to fux with your wastegate.
Yes it works.

yes, bend it 90 degrees..... see how long your engine lasts.
or, do some research and then go to home depot and build yourself an mbc for less than $15.

you would have to bend it a insanely small amount each time and then go out and test it to see what it boosts
fail
Stupid is as stupid does.

^^^ Seriously...Is your car even going to be able to handle extra boost? I hope you have a boost gauge and watch out for boost creep. But why bend something when you can get a MBC?

lol, i remember this being done when i was in high school... all of my dsm friends did it when they first got their cars. it's a dsm mod..... that pretty much sums it up.

You have to be the dumbest person on the planet. Who actually does this?

who doesn't love flaming?
What most of these folks meant to say was that if you don't know what bending the actuator actually does to your boost, what upping the boost means to your engine, and thus how to achieve what you want (POWER!:)) then this is truly something you should not be doing.
Adding to that, unless you know about engine tuning, injector timing, etc. you should not be fucking with boost at all, much less in a very imprecise way like this. Sadly, to save the 15-30 bucks that a manual boost controller would cost you need to spend probably ~100 hours learning exactly what does what, then be certain you understand what you are doing, and then realize that 15 bucks aint that much compared to a new turbo, actuator, or engine. Or a soul. Or a new set of skin since you got horribly flamed above :(
You are not dumb, you can do this, zilvia is useful if not friendly, but a question like this means you have more reading/lurking to do before touching the engine of your car. You can touch her eventually, but for the love of god be gentle :)

judging by your post, i don't think your capable of even bending that and still make it fit.
And that part is called a wastegate actuator
do it! your boost will "spike" and your car will be in the FS section

For the flamers above, u guys are suck idiots, cant you guys read before you talk your shit?
i was just asking about this crazy method for boost gain, it would have been a much different story if i actually did it, correct or is this to much for you idiots to handle????
So what have we learned here today????
We learned to read before talking shit on peoples threads and maybe life will go smother????
hmmmmm i wonder if that works????
mods please close question has been answered!
