Hi Guys!

Branching off my thread for input on the idea of consulting for people planning race cars and projects I had an idea for a Seminar, at a local hotel etc for community members to come and spend several hours going over my recommendations on tuning, car racing and modifications. To review my theories and philosophy on cars and tuning and how to learn to DIY.

It would be 20 dollars per person or possibly cheaper depending on what it costs to rent out the room and I could hold these once a month. Everyone who attends would receive a coupon for 20% off their dyno session good for 1 year as well as 1 free consultation phone call to be used any time during a 1 year period.

The seminar would be set up into three slices

- deciding where you want to go with your car
- once you decided where to start by planning your build
- when to go out into the deep end and how to approach sponsors and how
to ID trustworthy shops etc.
- last hour questions from you guys and case studies brought up to discuss

I have been tuning Nissans since 2000 and think that some insight from a non-engineer level, DIY'er and true enthusiast.

It could range for 1.5-2.5 hours

I have been thinking about doing something like this for a while. Might be a chance for people to individually pick my brain. Our cars are investments and often very costly and huge chunks of our lives and this we share with each other and might be worth discussing how to properly design a goal chart and path to get the most out of your money, goals and the tuning of the car.

I'm curious what your input is? or if there is another recommended way I could get my word out on consulting etc

Let's brainstorm

webinar perhaps? it would help you reach the non-local guys as well as save on the cost of renting a conference space. just a nominal fee for your time.

^Thats a thought to consider, like a huge cam session with a buncha dudes lol, but that would be way too hard.

I am definitely for this idea and am local enough to where I would attend. I've heard a lot of good reputation about your knowledge and tuning skills and would love to learn from you. I myself still being somewhat young, need to try and find out not only how to get where I want with my car, but also my career/job in the automotive industry and how to get there.

Would you happen to have any help on career information (in the automotive industry), kind of like a guidance counselor?

I would charge $20 a person and whatever is leftover buy some snacks and put the rest into your shop account or whatever.

hmm.... i dont know if it would be able to be a reoccuring event but it would work at least once. and you actually you would have to limit this to just zilvia or nissans. you could cater to all car enthusiast. also what would be cool (if you do have this once a month or whatever) is if you had other speakers come in as well like mike kojima, eric hsu, etc. or just anyone in the industry that has experience, to share thier thoughts and knowledge.

Exacty, I was going to say bring in a couple other speakers, and even have the event sponsored so everyone gets the most out of the event.

yes!!! this would benifit so many people! but id say do it over a span of time that way you could maximize profit and also for people who cannot make on seminar they may be able to make the next one or two... i really wouldnt be interested in attending but if you would like some help let me know id be willing to get this rolling. ive been in the industry for a while and definetly could aid you in this.

you could also record some of the discussions and put it up on youtube, or your site, to promote it

I think this could be a good idea. Especially out there where the scene is so big. I personally wouldn't do it unless there were some big names that i got to meet, but that's because I have a lot of automotive education and have a gigantic list of well-researched parts for my car(s).
