So i bought a 240 with a redtop sr to hold me off next season while i slowly build the FD i just acquired. After owning several sr20'd 240s in the past this problem has got me completely stumped and i can't stop thinking about it.
So this 240 has an excellent running sr20 and is one of the best running ones i have ever driven. Motor is so quiet that i can't even tell its idling. Yesterday i decided to clean up the engine harness since it was a big mess. And i noticed that the injector plugs looked funky like they were plugged into the wrong injectors (some plugs had a lot of slack and some were barely reaching the injectors). So i look up the color codes for the wires and as i suspected they were hooked up wrong. I also removed all the electrical tape just to make sure the plugs weren't replaced and different wire colors were used which wasn't the case. So i hooked up all the injector plugs the "right" way just to see if the motor would even run. To my surprise the motor ran perfectly, just how it did before. Here is how the injectors were plugged in before i touched anything: Injector plug #1 went to injector #4, Injector plug #2 went to injector #2, Injector plug #3 went to injector #3, Injector plug #4 went to injector #1. So injectors 1 and 4 were switched.
So this has been irritating me all day, how does the motor even run without stumbling with the two injectors getting the wrong timing from the ecu?
