Anyone have a good machine shop they can recommend in the San Diego area? My usual machinist doesn't want to tackle the SR head. Apparently replacing the valve guides on an SR is a major PITA. Seeing that you have to heat the head and such. I just need to find someone that has done it before so they're not 'takin a wack at it'.
So far I may be takin it to Ed Hale's in Lakeside, they seem to know whats up. But I'll wait for some recommendations here

Thanks

Try Rick Kemph in San Pedro
google him for the address and phone
guy has a pedigree in bulding heads
the go to guy for Triumph and a lot of Bonneville builders
background with TRD and Nismo (when they developed the GT3 KAs)
tell him Juan from Tower sent you

wait, you're 18

nevermind, he's not cheap.

nope, Jim Wolf doesn't do machine work. I'll see if he can recommend someone though. And San Pedro is too far for me. Thanks anyway. And I'm 30 not 18. My normal motorcycle machinist(I work at a motorcycle shop) is the one that didn't want to do it also. lol

PS. If we're talkin bout Triumphs/bonnies, I got Rob North right around the corner from me. If you know anything about Triumphs, then Rob's name should ring a bell. ;)

I apologize, I saw your post count and mistook it for your age

No, I know next to nothing about bikes, my buddy is a huge bike fan
I always tease his about his Ducaca that is always needing work
and the $90 oil changes

anyhow, keep Rick in mind if you still have difficulty finding a place
he is a friend of ours and has done a few heads for our KA builds

Cool man, Thanks for the info. I'll will definetly keep him in mind.
btw. $90 for a ducaca oil change is actually a deal. hahaha. I should become a ducati tech and rake in the real bucks. lol

If I was going to get head work done Ed's would be the place. Couple of my buddies had Sr head work done there and it was legit. They do excellent work.
