is it in an s-chassis?
is it hitting the firewall when you pull it back

Got all the bolts out?

Before removing the slave cylinder, push on the cluch pedal...sometimes this helps push stubborn transmissions back a bit back.

Starter removed all the way?

Slave disconnected?

disconnected clips for sensors?

I had to rotate my transmission to allow me to pull it off. The starter bump in the bellhousing wouldn't clear the tunnel. Rotate = solved.

When we pulled the motor in my freind r33(we did 5 of them) we dropped the whole front subframe and motor lol... but it was a pita... everything is disconnected right, drive shaft, tranny mount, all the bolts, i would take the starter off to i think the bolts that hold it on are also used to bolt the trans/motor together, clutch slave/lines, i you may have to tilt the motor back a little to get the trans to come out...
