It sounds like its comming from the valve train
kinda like the cam is slapping the rocker arm
check to make sure all your shims are there

Check your timing guide, also check how lose your timing chain is.

ok guys, so i pulled the vc, nothing was missing, askew, everything looked mint.
took out the plugs and hand cranked it, and the only noise was the timing chain hitting the metal guide/gaurd thing between the cam gears.... sugestions?
and you may have seen it on another site, i posted it on the other forums i belong to.
edit, noticed your in BC, might have seen this on NWN

Has the engine been actually running yet, or is this a new swap?
It could be due to lack of oil pressure.

timing chain tensioner may be out of whack. guides may be broken or worn and rattling. im on my phone, so i cant open the youtube link...

its my old engine, but it hasnt ran in 9 months,
i got it to run and it is considerably quieter.
im pretty sure the chain is slapping the metal guide that is between the cam gears its the only noise when i crank it over by hand.... is it ok to remove this guy? im also going to replace the tensioner as a precaution.

No one reads my posts...:wtc:
The guides are simply that, a guide. they are there to keep the chain from going totally out of whack if you tensioner does go bad...better the guide getting hit than the valve cover.
Many KA's have a top guide that sheers off over time and rattles...i threw mine away back in 2001 :)
