hi guys, a noobie here needs some opinions hehe. I am going to look at a 1991 with 120k miles. From the phone, the owner say no rust and the car runs great. My question is, is a stock, no rust and running 91 240sx worth $2000? or should i ask for lower? I am going to take some pics and post tonight. So Thanks all! I cant wait to see it!!!

That is a REAL good price for a 91+ 240SX, especially with that many miles. Of course you should always ask for lower. ;)

If you can get the specs for the car such as A/C, cdplayer, sunroof, fastback, coupe, SE, etc. Plug them into this site
Kelly Blue Book (http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/ke.kb.bz?kbb&&688&zip_ucr;1409)

That is a good deal on a FR car such as ours for the year and mileage. Remember that you would possibly have a great foundation for a future diamond in the rough.

I would say that anything over $2300 is too much and as stated in an earlier reply, talk him down.
If you see anything obvious like dents, broken or cracking glass, cracking hoses, worn belts, worn tires, cracked cv boots, fouled spark plugs, hard starting, oil from valve cover leaking, tell him that it will cost some money to fix and you don't have very much money. Anyways you get my point, use those points to talk down the price and be very adamant but think before you speak.

You guys seem to fail to realize the benefits of raising the market value of a car. If these cars are in as high demand as everybody thinks, wouldn't you expect the price to go up? Keep the high school kids away from them? What kind of world is it when a high school kid can buy an '89 240 in good shape with only 80k miles on it for 1200!? Oh wait, that was me three years ago. . .

Anyhow, prices vary too much by region on used cars, but from where I sit that's a great price. It's gone now, don't dwell on it :P
