Ok, I'm looking at replacing the speakers in my Kouki and from what I've gathered they are 6.5's front and back, but does anyone know if shallow designs are needed. I'm pretty broke with my Ls build and I've run across a really good deal on some new Polk Audio DB651, but I need to know if I would need the DB651S's instead. Hopefully not, or they will run x2 as much.

Neither fitment requires a shallow mount, there's a lot of depth.

get some componets for the front and what ever for the rear you will get a good sound

Cool, that's the info I was looking for!

Yeah, I really want to pick up some components, but I'm not sure right now with my cash flow. Components would require me picking up an Amp as well.

Well, the engine's back in now, but I'm still waiting for the first test drive.

Ls or not, I still gotta have my music. I was able to pick up my Kouki for cheap, but since the old tape player was broken I didn't know that every speaker in the car was blown.

You can come across a good system for pretty cheap if you look for it. Just keep your eye out i guarantee you will find something cheap but but good.

I really hope your putting suspension and brakes on that thing. Big HP to me is dumb if you cant put it on the ground or go around a corner (unless its a drag car) or you know...stop.
Staying on topic, you can get NEW shit at best buy for less then $100 for just front and rear speakers.
Also i have an amp and 10" sub really good condition that i can ship to you for $100

I wouldn't even put any speakers in the rear. The car is so small you don't even notice that there gone. Spend that money on some good coaxials for the front and a good head unit.

Brakes will be going on soon! Just have to make sure the drivetrain is up and running properly. After that will probably pick up a set of Eibach springs, can't go to low around here with all the pot holes.

Brakes are eagerly waiting in the trunk.

Yeah, I'm seriously thinking about picking up a set of coaxials right now and later on buying an amp and components, then moving the coaxials to the back.

Compnents or not, you really should have an amp backing them up. No headunit can power a decent set of speakers properly. I agree with just doing the fronts if your short on cash. I have Eclipse components up front, I don't even know there aren't speakers in the back.

hey man can you check you kouki to see if you have the stock amp under the back speaker area( big silver box) for some reason my kouki SE doesn't have it. but my friends LE has it.

Only the LE model with the AM/FM/CD/cassette radio is amplified on the Kouki models. All others did not come with the amps.

Yeah, that makes sense. My Kouki is a base model and I looked last night and there's no amp.
