I would ditch the ICAV for an IACV

Spray some carb cleaner into the vacuum hose (thick hose) that goes from near the throttle body (before it) to under the intake manifold (to the IACV). Keep doing this while the car is running, should help to de-gunkify it a bit.

If you can't adjust your idle down enough, there is likely something else going on. I had this problem and fixed it by replacing my CTS and cleaning/replacing my IACV. I replaced it because mine had that ridiculous plastic screw.

would MAF sensor cleaner work as well to clean the IACV?

sounds more like your tps needs adjustment or replacement. the screw on the iacv controls how open the mechanical orifice is. it doesnt control the main orifice which is controlled by a solenoid/ecu. take iacv off and clean it if you like. it is very straightforward.

you can use carb cleaner on iacv. tps is first priority. needs to be .44 volts when closed and connector connected. back probe it.
