well it has the crower stage 2 cams.. other mods are the ram air intake, high flow cat, with a full cat-back, fidanza flywheel, and aluminum driveline.. the car has no tuning... i have headers as well that i havent put on.. i doubt those will help out the situation though

Your engine isn't modified enough to feel a huge difference with cams.. You lowered your low end power and slightly increased your top end by maybe 5-10 hp... Also, did you get them properly degree'ed? You should definitely look into getting it tuned..

Crower KA24DE cams are known to be...well, not that great. They typically need to be "degree'd", as they are not dead-on in a drop-in install.

Advancing your timing was a good move, the KA likes a little timing.

...but don;t expect miracles, even once degree'd and tuned. You really don't have enough RPM to make use of big cams, so the cam options are all pretty mild.

lets see naturally asperated engine with cams and an intake congrats on your 3 hp gain.

are the cams from brian crower or crower, stage 2 can mean many things, the brian crower stage 2 car usually suggest the use of their valves and springs. either way an untuned na car with very mild mods isnt going to be that affected by cams. i put cams into my sr didnt really notice a difference and im fully built, its not until you get into the tune that you can begin noticing power changes, but thats really more a combination of all of the work that youve done

BRIAN CROWER STG2 KA CAMS -

must use cam gears and degree em in... require more timing at idle - and up top but less timing in midrange.

without tuning the ecu - you wont get much unless u jack the timing like 6 deg and it'll still not be right.

I would get a Calumsult or Nistune ECU.. You can tune them yourself so you won't have to send it in and pay each time you add some modifications.. JWT or likewise will only give you a ball park tune that you will have to fine tune with something like a SAFC..

^^^ not true about jwt he says to stay away from safc, and. to datalog a couple runs then he will fine tune it

Oh sorry, I didn't know that.. I still think it would be more convenient to be able to tune it yourself instead of sending it back and forth..

If these are Brian Crower Cams, I am not surprised, they dont really make much of any change without a lot of EMS tuning to back them up, or in most cases Turbo upgrade.

Cams are front door monitors, they monitor the front door to the party, the party being the combustion in the cylinder. With a big cam, you are letting more people into your party but if the party is not well coordinated then no one is going to be having much fun anyways.

You need to invest in long tube headers, high flow exhaust, high flow intake as well as an AEM unit to tune on the dyno, which I can help you out with (Have a lot of experience with AEM unit on KA). You might also need to adjust your CAS/Dist Timing and run higher octane as well as adjust the camshaft timing in coordination with dyno testing as well.
