The hose that came with the tranny cooler is holding up fine and actually fits quite snug and felt stiffer initially. Needed another hose so i bought some fuel hose (SAE 30R7) but after about 300 miles the side with the 30R7 started leaking because the hose expanded. I tried tightening down the clamp tighter to see what would happen but that was a fail. I go to AAP and ask for 3/8 heater hose and they give me SAE 30R6 which I googled and its fuel hose as well. I wanted to know if it really made a difference if it was heater hose or not...The guy at the counter said it would be fine *shrugs*. Just to clarify its leaking at the cooler, not at the tranny. The new hose doesn't even fit that tight.

Advance has specific transmission/oil cooler line that will work. Tell those lazy fucking "parts" guys to get it for you. If their store has the right inventory they sell it by the ft in the bulk hose section in the back room.

See that's the thing, he did go back there and cut the "heater hose" to size. I even asked him twice afterward to confirm it was the right hose, obviously now I know its not. I see some heater hoses on their site but they seem to be too cheap. I'll go back in and see what they have.

Not all stores will have all sizes/types in stock, but you can walk back there yourself to verify. High pressure fuel hose doesn't swell, that's what you want.
