hey, I'm thinking of buying these parts: Injen CAI, HS headers. Do you think it's worth spending the money on these parts? And, will they hurt my engine?

depends on whether your going turbo or swapping in the future...
if that was the case i would say dont get them...
but if not and just want a little extra power from the KA then go for it...

just my .02..

thanks, yeah, I'm just trying to add a little more power to the car before I get suspension parts. I can either get the engine parts, or the suspension parts. But if I get the suspension parts now, I'm not getting the engine parts later. =)

the header is probably not worth it. They never seem to show gains of more than 3-4hp and can crack. An exhaust would probably be a better use of the $

IMO suspension parts will be more rewarding, but that all depends on ur plans

black kouki
mm so nice
well if i were you.
nice wash claybar and wax haha...then
suspension stuff.
its great to havep ower but if cant handle that power (car cant respond to it) its pointless

upgarde your pads androtors and brake lines
then get some shock spring
vlsd is fun
then some engine mods.
you'll have a nice all around car
and dont forget the wash and wax often! black koukis are seeeeexy

yah, I use zaino? or whatever wax that my brother told me NSX owners usually use. It's so shiny, just like a black raindrop driving around =)

NICE
mm clean black koukis rock
yeah i would suggest spring shock and vlsd or lsd (clutch) first. vlsd does the job great though

power? depends on your plans. going SR? then dont waste money on KA. put that money to suspension

spring shock will give you a ncie ride, lower your car, get some nice bling wheels (R33 GTR rock) haah..and enjoy.

vlsd runs around 200ish to 300...bolt in job. spring shocks are under 1K.
if you want harder springs, check out RS*R race springs. www.rs-r.com
the race springs ARE in stock in the US. might check that out!

have fun and drive safely!

Oh yeah, I already ordered my exhaust, it's coming at the end of the month. It's a blitz nur spec R

Hmm, I'm ordering from enjuku hehe. I already sent in the order form this morning for intake/headers. But, they said something was wrong with my card. I think it's because it's a debit card and my dad hasn't written me the check yet. Hmm, I think it's a sign to instead get headers/intake, to get sways/intake hehe. Well, I sent Ken an email telling him to cancel the order. What else do I need to do to cancel the order from enjuku and right up a new one.

Oh yeah, what sways are good???
Suspension Techniques (front/rear $229.99+shipping)
CUSCO Front ($279.99+shipping) Rear ($209.99)

What's the difference between the two brands besides name?

cusco might be bit thicker but its primarily the name and importing
lots ofpeople use ST with graet great results. save the $$ and get the ST.

thanks man, yeah I kinda don't want to bother my dad too much even though money isn't a problem. I'm not planning on taking corners too fast or anything anyways. So yup ST is a good way to go. thanks
I guess I'm not getting headers anymore. At least now I'll be able to hear myself inside the car.

i highly suggest in a VLSD if your car does not have one. you can get them thru junkyard or from people selling them on webboards. search VLSD inthe search mode
its probably the best thing you can put on yoru car. night and day handling. and if you go to the drag strip you wont be laughed out when you do 'open diff burnouts' (one tire smoking) :D
also its great for any sort of motorsports..drift, open track, auto-x, etc.

how much is vlsd? I don't even know if I have it or not. How do I check?

Dousan_PG

cost ofa 240sx s14 VLSD: $200-300 used..maybe more maybe less.depensd on where and who you buy it from. you can also use J30 VLSD (search mode for more info on j30 usage)

dont listen to what people say
listen to me

easiest way:

get two people
jack up the car and put rear on stands (just jack up rear from diff)

now, put car in neutral
have your friend hold oen wheel
you turn other
if your wheel tursn with NO friction (turns easy) open diff
if you turn your wheel and his turns the OPPOSITE direction: open diff

if you turn and hehas friction and the wheel wants to turn when you turn yours (his/hers wants to turn SAME WAY yours does): VLSD

that's the easiest
open diff will turn opposite direction.

also if you have a VLSD or a real LSD (let's say you buy one) you'll never want a car without one. the difference is NIGHT AND DAY in handling adn response. its worth every cent. by far one of the best upgrades you can buy for your car!

Black 97SE
05-23-2003, 04:11 PM
cool, if that's the case I'm sure my dad and brother will agree to it hehe. How much does it usually cost?

Dousan_PG

vlsd 200-300 on average..

'real' LSD (real meaning clutch, mechanical and helical) $1000+

a VLSD does a awesome job on the street and track. LSD is more for the 'hardcore' or big track guys. really a VLSD does fine and will more then do the job.

LSD is like KAAZ, Nismo, ATS, Tomei, etc...

VLSD is factory OEM. works great lasts super long time.
