95 s14. Since i swapped in my m/t if i'm coming to a stop and letting the revs go down I can hear what sounds like something spinning as I come to a stop, its almotst like a whine of a gear thats spinning. i can't seem to figure out whats making the noise, is it the actual gears in my tranny or is it my driveshaft rubbing something? It's not coming from the engine, its either the tranny or the driveshaft...
my car has abs, and i'm using the front part of a m/t s14 driveshaft but the back part of the driveshaft is the abs one from my auto d/s, is that why its making the noise?

if i kind of sounds like sand getting kicked up in your wheel wells and it gets louder the faster you go and goes away whne you push the clutch pedle then chances are its you tob, mine does that and im replaceing it tommarow:] otherwise, i have no idea.

Mine goes away as the revs climb, i ONLY hear it when i'm basically engine braking towards a speed bump or a stop. I'd say under 1500-2k rpm at the most

I say maybe its the diff or lsd or its just maybe the trans mission

if it sounds kind of grainy or like sand then its probably your tob. try pushing in your clutch pedle and see if the sound goes away. if you put your ear on the knob you can probly hear it when the cars on and in nutural

I was gunna mention maybe the diff. If the diff has been changed recently maybe the fluids weren't filled up very much, or if you just changed to a welded.
Other than that, I don't think it's your driveshaft. But to double check, MAKE SURE your transmission is mounted correctly with all the bolts holding it up, as well as the driveshaft mount. If anything is unbalanced it could make noises and ultimately lead to destroying the rubber part of your driveshaft.

Diff has been hte same, umm if i press the clutch in it makes no difference the whine still continues...it almost sounds like the gear itself or something thats spinning is making the noise.
The sound is NOT there on idle, it only happens when im slowing down alot, usually to a stop

drain your tranny fluid and check for bits of metal. sounds like you could have issues with the M/T that you installed. was it used? how many miles were on it? did you change your clutch, pilot bushing or anything else that should be done when you have the trans off?
the input shaft bearings are very easy to damage in the sr/ka trannys. if the trans is hung wrong or hangs on the input shaft for ANY amount of time it can smoke the bearing. hope this helps you out.

Before taking anything apart, jack the rear end, CHOCK the front wheels, and slowly let it roll in the air, going through each gear. See if you hear the noise then, and if you can hear it with the engine letting the car roll in gear without stalling. Then get under it and track the noise down. If it goes away with it in the air, it's only under load, so start pushing on loose items near the driveshaft and see if it changes.
