Sounds exactly like a boost leak.

does it have to be a big boost leak if so or can it be little ones too that could cause that problem? i was told also that my spark plugs mite need to be regapped or that my tps is fucking up.

My car also runs hella rich been trying to figure it out, the car boosts fine, misfires every so often at idle, no power loss and it has back fired once or twice nothing real major... any ideas

1995 s14
redtop sr20det(rebuild new oem)
fmic/piping
hks bov(not recirc)
megan elbow/downpipe
buddy club spec 2 exhaust

i might check all my intercooler couplers and check for leaks but i dont hear or feel any of the side effects from a boost leak...

p.s. sorry for thread jack...

On a pda so cant multi quote. But you^^^ clean your maf.

It is probably a small one. A big one usually means it wont run. It can be the other things you mentioned (doubtfull on the plugs causing a rich condition) but fix any boost leaks, check your bov by stretching a condom over it while its idling and by slowly increasing engine speed, it shouldnt fill up untill you let off. Also try racing the engine fast, it shouldnt fill up untill you let off.

Go ahead and clean the maf too.

doesnt have to be a big leak , a little leak will do it too. check ur plugs and then check for leaks. was ur car running fine before, and have u done anything to it recently??

just use electrical cleaner

The advantage to maf cleaner is it seems to dry quicker than electrical cleaner. This is so the hot wire is less likely to get damaged if you do a quick clean and reinstall. I use maf cleaner and canned air afterwords to dry it quickly. DO NOT USE COMPRESSED AIR from a tank as there might be too much pressure that could damage your wire.
