i need new tires and im looking at getting Sumitomo
HTR 200, with the size 225/50-15. is that a good tire for stock rims. are there any possible problems with a tire that size. and is there any better reccomended sizes.

225 is too wide for a 6" rim. I suggest you get 205 60 15's instead. This was the stock size on hicas equipped cars. I don't know anything about sumitomo tires tho.
yeah thats the size tire i have now. i dont know about 225 being to wide because i have a friend with that on his 93', and he hasnt had any problems yet, but theyve only been on a week. i was also considering 215's, would that be a better choice than 225's or is it really better to stick with the 205's.
I am running the Sumitomo HTRZ II 205-45-16 and I love them.. Good brand so far.

It will fit. It will work. Is it the best? No. It's a bit too wide for that rim, which will lead to "bulge"...and bulge leads to less-responsive handling. While you're waiting for the tire to flex and take a set, you don't have full control over the steering.
It's up to you. If you MUST have a wider contact patch, go for it, but you will lose some of that patch due to the tire being curved more at the edges. The best/widest tire for that wheel would be a 205/60-15. That's a factory option, and it works well. If you want wider, get wider wheels.

ok ill stick with the 205/60-15. thats what i have on my car now and they work fine, so i wont try to go to big.

If you want better tires with good traction you will have to reduce the sidewall to 55 or 50, but 205 is definately the width to use.
