I noticed that when I shift, then let the clutch out and give it gas (normal shifting, not shifting hard) that there is about a 1 or 2 second delay before it seems like the clutch really catches and the power starts.

Sounds like your clutch might be slipping. Does it do the same thing under hard shifts?

time for a new clutch my friend... don't replace stock one... upgrade... a nice affordable one I have found that one of my good friend uses is an exedy (sp?) stage 2... It's not too bad for daily driving but his launches and shifts are much better now.

Will clutches in a KA and SR swap? I am planning on doing the swap at the end of this month, and I am trying to hold off on getting a new clutch until I do the swap. But, if they the clutch will swap, I will buy one now.

WHAT WHAT WHAT!??!?!?!? NOOOOOOO!!!!
The SR clutch is different!!!!! Hence the reason it took so long for KA guys to get good clutches.

yeah, IIRC, they both have the same actual gearbox (with different 5th gear ratios) but with different bellhousings and clutch/flywheel assemblies...
dont bother replacing your clutch.. save the cash as long as your car still goes.

Edit is your friend :)
redline- if your SERIOUSLY doing the swap end of month live with it for now. you'll need that 2-300 bux for the swap. I needed a clutch just before I did miine. rode the sorry stock one out when we pulled it the friction disk was as smooth as the flywheel. it slipped in fifth on the highway just punching it to pass slow cars.
