no searches came up...mostly because the engine couldnt recognize D1 or D1*...

anyone have any experience with them? at first, i was under the impression that they were just re-badged "D1" from aerocatch to market to fanboys, but found out they are of lower quality...this is a KNOWN FACT to me so dont post, "its shit, just get aerocatch /end thread"...

ive seen them floating around this forum so i just wanted real life first hand experience with them...latches are not of great importance for me so aerocatch is an option, but not necessity...what are the chances my stock latch and both hood latches failing? its a chance im willing to take that doesnt bother me much...

Don't buy those. I installed them before and the locking pattern was different from the two and the lock did not work on one of them.

buy aerocatch...I have a pair of non-locking ones if your are interested in buying them.

thank you, thats the exact type of response i was looking for...nothing sarcastic and nothing irrelevant...do you have any opinion or input in terms of materials, design, and quality? mainly because i would be in the market for non locking ones and it seemed your main problems with them were lock mechinasm related...

yes, im interested...shoot me a pm!

Aerocatch is pretty shitty in and of it's self imo, so I'd hate to see something worse. =P

If you plan on using a fiber hood, I suggest you remove the stock latch being as how it puts a lot of excess stress on the hood at the latch area. Only problem with that is it leaves you without much keeping people from opening your hood. So either aerocatch or those key hoodpin lock things.

i actually implement both. i have the pins that have all the strain put on them and the OEM latch to keep our would be peekers.

I've seen these and thought the exact same thing, re-badged Aerocatch for the fanboys but I have no personal experience with them. On the other hand, I do have some experience with Aerocatch. Personally I think its the reality of using plastic in a high load area. Here is one I have where the hinge seat has actually broken out.

Its unfortunate b/c I can't just buy one to replace the darn thing. Anybody got a spare locking type; plus flush?

My friend had the same thing happen to his real Aerocatch on his is300.

Always need to spray WD-40 . I had the same problem and broke at the hinge but ever since I used wd-40 , it works like butter !
