well i did a search and i didn't find anything that was good enough to answer my question.
well i have used water before to clean the valves and carbon deposits on my once owned 1992 nissan stanza... but now i have a s14 zenki 240 and i was wondering if anybody know of a thin vaccum line on the ka24de motor that i could use for the seafoamĀ® product? Becaue with the ka24e motor, it had plenty of small vaccum lines but on the ka24d3 motor, I don's see any small vaccum lines at all but the brake booster line and that is WAY TOO BIG AND IT WOULD SUCK UP TOOO MUCH OF THAT SEAFOAM LIQUID.
so it would be real helpful if someone can tell me where there is a small in diameter vaccum line that i could use that seafoam valve, carbon, etc. cleaner?
thanks....

most ppl use the brake booster vacume line, its the only rubber hose that goes to the brake booster, not hard to miss, it goes from the brake booster, on the drivers side, along the firewall, then into the intake manifold

yea...i know what your are talking about...but that hose is tooo big and i'm afraid that it might suck in way too much of that seafoam liquid and i dont want to bend any rods because i know liquid can't get compressed like air.........so is there any other smaller vaccum lines that i could use??
anybody with expirience??
thanks.... knighrider

use the brake booster vacuum line. think of it like this, can you really fill up 26 liters at 650 rpm from one vacuum line?
to hydrolock your engine, your intake would have to be sucking in a LOT of water.

not only that, but if you don't put the hose in all the way, then it can't suck it all up.

Just pour the amount of seafoam you need in a plastic cup and use that. You'll actually probably want to have someone else with you so you can give it a little throttle because usually the car stalls out before it gets a chance to suck all the seafoam up.

i just poured it slowly while giving it a little throttle using the throttle body. just pour it slowly and stop every once in a while and give it more gas till the idle comes back up again, then keep going. as long as you don't dump the whole bottle in at once you should be alright.

One of my friend's sprays seafoam strait into his throttle body. He swears it is good for his engine, but he says everytime he does it, his car stalls like 4 times when he cranks it, but after about 5 or 6 times it runs good.

thats probably the most ideal place, because in theory, you want the seafoam to clean the throttle body too,

Yeah, that's one of the places it actually says to use it.

Does anyone trips codes when they run Seafoam. I have run it through the KA and the VQ with problems but the other 5 cars i have run it through have had no problems. To suck it up i would grab a brake booster size hose and put my finger over most of it, and tilt the can so that it poured out in front of the hose, and it went right in.

it could trip a code, because the engine will run like crap, and the ecu might think that the engine is running rich because of the unmetered "fuel" thats entering the engine, but just reset it or let it turn off by itself and you should be fine.

they go off, but they take about a day or two to go away. Tried runplugging the battery, and hitting the brake, Ford ECu clear method, don't know the Nissan way yet. Just randomly go off after the car was killed

Seafoam is a carbon cleaner that you runn through the vacuum hoses. Suck it up till the car dies (Might be the wrong way, but this is how i do it, or until you run out, usually use half a can) The let it sit for about 5-20 minutes. Start it up, it will be hard to keep alive, just know that. Then take her for a spin and watch the smoke pour. Good time to check for exhaust leaks, not like i would know;)

so what does it actually clean though? Is it a cleaner for your vacum lines or?

It cleans the carbon buildups in your engine, it kinda like running really hot burning gas through the engine, or like water, to kinda steam clean.
