So i went to the midnight viewing of "The Fourth Kind". First off id like to say that the movie was not at all what i had expected. If offered a new kind of visual direction. It seemed too real and i found myself panicked, hell i even got a foot cramp. The movie has a world of revelations that i did not hear before on the subject of alien abductions. I am not going to ruin it for you but, towards the end. . i got the chills (The voice of the alien?? said something very troubling).
The movie was a little TOO much at times in terms of what is happening at a single given moment.
Makes me wonder if this is real or not, but some parts are a LITTLE too hard to believe, relative to the fact that we never heard of the problems they had. (missing child).
Ok

Foot cramps are the worst. Especially if you're driving.
This movie looks odd.
For the record though, i've been saying owls were aliens for years. The things are just unnatural looking and they act even weirder. There's a pair of them that fly around my neighborhood from time to time. However, the only things that have had fourth kind experiences in my area are small rodents and the occasional coach-purse-accessory-piss-ant dog.
constant barking at 3:32 AM....3:33 AM barking stops. tinkerbell aint there in the morning. Shit just got real.

I plan to see this movie but I was wondering if you had seen Paranormal Activity? If so I hope it was not nearly as terrible. Paranormal Activity was like the new freaking Blair Witch project. I'd also be wondering on the 1-5 Star scale what kind of rating you would give it.

IMHO, the film was ~~ok. Sure it was spooky, but was not as theatrical as what i am used to. For the reason that they used "archive footage".
I would watch it, because it does make you think about the subject. Let's assume its true, then what?
I wish that the ended was more closure.
SO. .
yes, watch it.

Paranormal Activity was similar to this film in my opinion. Main difference is the budget. I hated the way that "PA" ended, also the turns that the movie took. But what i did like is that you felt like the movie would interact with you, since it was POV.
The Fourth Kind, is a sci-fi (something). lol. It is not really like a surprise kind of scary, its more of a shock. It was VERY creepy to see the sessions that she was holding as a therapist, and the audio tapes that they played (assuming all is honest and true).
For both films, the more you believe in the subject, the better/ scarier they are.
I can't really say if it was as "bad" as paranormal activity, because im certain that my tastes differ than yours, (i found paranormal activity entertaining), but what i will say is that most the the movie is more watchable.

I saw the prescreening like 2 weeks ago, and it was fucking weird. I was a little creeped out but not scared. It seemed more like a documentary than a movie for entertainment, like they were trying to inform the world rather than have a scary movie.

this movie sucked a nazi filled germany worth of dicks... honestly... I hated the format. why couldn't they just say "this is based on a true story and events" And played the fucking old footage during the credits.
The whole movie was put together mad retarded, I think it was more frustrating than it was frightening. My girlfriend and I both jumped a few times, but it was just the sound and some of the stupid special effects setups.
I would've much rather prefered this to be a popcorn flick that frightens me instead of movie (show real footage next to the fake movie footage.)
did not dig this format at ALL.

So I watched The Fourth Kind last night.
I wasn't impressed at all. ONE scary part in the whole movie.
The distortion in the film during the "actual" footage was stupid

bah.
i was super hyped up for this movie, and saw it in lieu of paranormal activity...big mistake.
the movie had potential to be some pretty scary shit, but they ruined it by adding in special effects. if they wanted a movie to scare you because of the "real life" effect from actual footage and whatnot, then they should leave it in the raw form. i felt like whoever directed this movie was undecided in the format they wanted to convey, and in the end it ruined the feel of the movie.

So i was simply stating that if the film was INDEED based on facts, and the video is legit, then it is that much more creepy.
