so last year i bought a 96 euro spec S14 from a guy who was getting a divorce, and getting out of the military, i got a pretty good price on it. the euro spec s14's come stock with the SR20DET in them, he had a few mods done...the valve train is pretty built; BC stage2 cams, titanium valve springs and retainers, aftermarket headgasket, and rocker arm stoppers. there was also a Z32 MAF installed on the car.

now that i am done with school for a while i would like to dedicate some time to her and get her ready for the spring... the problem is, when she sits at idle, it purrs like a kitten, but when i take her over 5k rpms, the idle starts going all over the place and she eventually stalls. then it will not even idle right after that.

to run the Z32 MAF, does you ecu need to be chipped???? i have check all of the fuel lines and even cleaned the injectors, so what i came up with was the MAF. how can you tell when one goes bad???

thanks for your time,
mike

no man. dont just order a maf. they're several hundred dollars. check for boost/vacuum leaks of the sort and check for the output voltage of the maf.

checked for the boost and vacuum leaks, there were none. what should the voltage on the maf read?

your ecu needs to be chipped/tuned for it to use a z32 maf.
