Newbie Question, but what lights are suppose to light up on the cluster?

Sorry if this one is lame, but it is giving me concerns.

I just got my 240 recently and the other day when I turn the key not all of the cluster lights turned on. For the set on left, only the check engine light lit up. For the set on the right, all of them lit up, but the door light. When I turn the car on, they all turn off iirc.

I was just curious if I need to check my lights in case one of them is lit and I should know about it.

iirc (off top of head)
when you turn to before start up (ignition) you get the check engine light and some otherlights. if your door is open the door light

when you start car, the check engine light turns off (if you dont have ne problems).

um..but your description confuses me.

i think hes woried that one of the diagnostic lights is burnt out, because not all of them light up when he starts the car (then turn off).

What I meant by left and right sets were the grouping of lights. There are 6 to the left and 6 to the right or something like that. Sorry about that.

Anyhow, if not all of them light up, then how can you know that they are functioning?

which ones dont light up?
if you have base model all wont light up because you dont have those 'options' (abs, hicas, etc..)

Here is a crude pic of which ones light up when I turn the key. I just cut and pasted the parts in question. These were taken off a JDM one which have different ones, but I marked the spots that are lit on my USDM one, so bear with me. :p

dousan36: Good Point. My SE shows a blank spot on the third middle light of the left set. I guess that would be the ABS one. But the rest are there.
