im a skinny white boi, 125, 5'10'' and im not sure if i want to order the type s, or just the standard one.

also, the best pricing new ive been able to find is 823 shipped. anyone happen to come across better pricing?

thanks guys.

my gf uses the type S, its comfy!! i'm 150ish 5-9 and its a good solid fit on me, she's 105 lbs and its a great comfy fit for her as well. as far as price iunno, i haven't seen much better. i think something like that you kind of get lucky and happen to find someone selling one or you just deal with paying dealer price

40' waist= no Brides for you :(. Ive sat in various Bride seats (Zeta III, Zeta II, Brix II, Gias, Stradia) and they felt just fine but then again i have a 30' waist.

They make a Zeta XL, which you should fit:

Just get custom rails made

For some of those who are in Socal, you could go to Wedge Engineering (http://www.wedgeengineering.net/)

Before if you brought them your seat, they would fab up a seat rail to your specifications

A friend with a 350Z and a Recaro Pole Position got that done

Just a word of warning though, the seat rails that Wedge makes "out of the box" are typically known to sit relatively high, so if you do get a rail made, make sure you specify how low you want it

Also, some way to get "lower" is to get more lean out of the bucket seat, i.e drop the rear bolt down, so the seat leans back more...aka that gangsta lean

If you have a normal width (sidemount) seat though, just get Bride FG rails

your waist you may get away with reclinable low max seats, you will bend them but your back spread wont fit in them for shit. Your best bet is L sparco racing pro series seats.

I have a zeta iii L. When I was 230 w/ a 38 waist it was very snug. I lost about 50lbs so now I'm a 33 waist and i could stand the regular zeta iii. The L isn't bad though.

If you're not worried about brand(or quality, lol), get an f1spec type 2, its large, and it will fit bride FG rails. I'm 6'3" and was about 280-290 back then, fit alright in the thighs, only problem was the shoulder bolsters for me. Since you're not as tall, it should be perfect for you. I had so much head room, too. Still using the same seat, but I've dropped down to 215, its very loose now so I'm waiting on my new seat. Sorry OP.

regular ZetaIII should be fine.
if u go zetaII, id go type L

ive had a regular zetaII, a zetaII type l, sat in numerous zetaIIIs (l and normal) had ziegs, zeros, maxis, sparcos (speed, rev, and some other one), brixs (1 -3 different gens, 2-sat in) ergos, xaxs, and so on and so forth

I'm 5'6", 125lbs, so pretty skinny. I use the Bride Exas III because of the narrower shoulder bolster. It also leaves plenty of room from the door panels just in case I get a cage. Also, the Exas III has more angle to it than the Zeta III Type S.

To OP, since you are taller, the Zeta III Type S isnt recommended because the back of your head/helmet might be close to the top of the seat, or maybe even above. So if you get into an accident your head might excessively flop around.

I would go with Zeta III, or if you want to search around, Japanese spec Recaro SPG. They really hug your waist - it makes my kidneys hurt......

its not all about performance, i love the look of bride, always have, it was like "the seat to have."

so now that i actually have (well, had. insurance is 1000 dollar deductible.) the money, im going for te seat ive always wanted.

so what is the difference from zeta III and exas III, just in the shoulders?

They make a Zeta XL, which you should fit:

New!! ZETA III Type XL « Holding Monster (http://lotusa.wordpress.com/2009/02/03/new-zeta-iii-type-xl/)

i can find the S and L...no XL :naw:

kinda sat in Ernie's (DTC) Cobra seat he has... it was comfy even for me...just forgot the name...

Yes, the difference is in the shoulders. I wear a 36 jacket, so its fine for me, but if you are wider in the shoulders, I would suggest Zeta III.

Also, depending on which bracket you use, a wider bolstered seat will hit the door panel. I recommend using the Bride FG rail. It will mount the seat as low as possible, has dual locking sliders, slides smooth, and its built really well. The downfall is that it will move the seat 15mm towards the door....

So you might want to check out the Vios III seat. It can use Bride's new Low Max seat rail, so it sits lower than the FG rail, and it keeps the seat centered...

Drifting-pedobear

okay. so.

ive looked into it more, and it looks like now its between either the Vios III or the Zieg III
the Zieg looks really nice, idk which one is better, putting the pics side by side, the zieg looks more comfortable but higher leg bolsters.

so dousan, teknolust, what are your imputs? just dont want to make the wrong decision!

i had an older zieg (2 of them, a red and a black)
and i ONLY sold it because i got a MAXIS and then a ZEROS

other then that, zieg was far superior imo to zetas and such
higher bolsters (makes a huge difference mid drift for me) and stil extremely comfortable.

ive never tried the ZiegIII so i couldnt tell ya though, first hand.

beyond buckets, have u looked into new bride models?
i saw the CUGA on the back of a doriten and it looks sooo awesome.
its like a BRIX I on steriods

[ PRODUCT TESTING | BRIDE CUGA ] J.D.M. OPTION INTERNATIONAL (http://www.jdm-option.com/eng/parts/06_11/cuga.html)

way better then a BRIX II for support and such. and its reclinable. high ass leg bolsters too

I daily my car, so I would personally use a seat with lower side bolsters so I can get in and out easier, therefore Vios III. The side bolsters on the Zieg III is monstrous!

Also, the Zieg has more lean to it, so since you are taller than me, it would probably let you sit more comfortably inside the car with a helmet on. However the extra lean might make the proportion between leg length and arm length weird (i.e. you may have to get a steering wheel spacer).

The comparison pic from Bride Japan website:

i had not realized how much lean it has. and th sides look even more monstrous then i thought! but from the photographs, the cusioning on the zieg looks much more, comfortable, but, i dont know how i would feel about that much lean... i can deal with the side bolsters, but that lean... i wish there was a place i could go to test it out.

the lean might also put me farther from things like my shifter and other controls yeah? i dont know. i need help lol.

im going to sift through some older archived threads.

glad i stumbled across this thread... been trying to do a lot of research into seats. i'm a pretty big guy myself at 6'2" 260lb 38-40" waist.

I bought a Sparco Evo3 considering my size without considering whether it will fit into my S15 silvia and, it didn't lol. took 3 hrs with the help of a BFH to get it and the buddy club rails bolted in, then realized the shoulders stuck into the way of the door by about 1.5-2 inches and even with the butt pad out my head hit the roof.

I've come up with a fool-proof solution though: Buy Zeta III Carbon Kevlar seat and FG rail then because I won't be able to buy food I'll eventually be able to fit into the seat :)

OP: I hope you find a good seat for your size and I'd agree withTeknolust72 though about you being taller as you don't want to risk injuring yourself in an accident where it could've been prevented if you'd bought the seat more suited for your height...
