If you have to ask, this engine is out of your capability. Selling dirt cheap b/c I want it gone. It was running when I pulled it out but I sold the car so now I'm left with an engine. Crank for oil pressure before you run it and your good to go. If you plan or running it turbo charged you will need to use C16/Q16 or Methanol Fuel. If you want to run it N/A go for it! If you look at the spec's this engine will take whatever you can throw at it... Make sure you have a good tuner =)

I rode with Henry in his car with this motor and it is ridiculously awesome. It was super responsive. Henry was upshifting to 3rd in the 2nd gear sections of horse thief mile because it has so much grunt down low and it spools the turbo up quick. I never knew the compression was so high which makes complete sense now. I will vouch for how awesome this setup is with a turbo.

I laugh every time people say...10.5...11...too high compression for turbo. Newbs...8.5 is great if you wanna brag that you're boosting 25-30psi and have to rev the crap outta the motor before getting decent boost. Additionally, low comp turbo motors have crap bottom end power.

Of course, if your driving style likes revs, go for low comp. KA's are known for massive bottom end torque and a high comp turbo setup is the best for it especially since so many people complain about the KA's inability to hold 7k rpms reliably.

Want revs...go SR, it's stroked for it.

Basic rules for high comp turbo setups...no need for massive boost (less wear on turbos due to lower spool rpm required to maintain boost)...run plenty of GOOD fuel (not so much you wash out the rings)...make sure you have a competent tuner.

You can still bust a low comp motor in a day. Why? Because the tuner didn't retard enough timing, ran it a bit too lean to impress you with super crazy high HP/torque numbers, you decided to crank up the boost after the tune or a combo of both.

Those who understand the logic for high comp turbo motors get it. Those who don't have to learn to think outta the box.

I'm boosting 7psi on a stock bottom end and low end response is awesome.

mestzorx7 - Thx. Responded to pm.

i laugh every time someone says that as well about high compression being bad for boost. Yes not the IDEAL but for example.

Guy on another forum with a bone stock SR20VE 11:1 compression motor on a big turbo made 550+whp on only 18psi of boost. The motor was dead stock down to headgasket and at that power level the head finally started to lift to where headstuds and metal headgasket were needed. He is using 91 octane pump gas and water/meth injection.

ill post the sheets up here in a bit.

92 plus alky
same setup on the ve

he is using a hybrid borg warner 62mm compressor w 1.15 A/R turbine housing. Again bone stock ve with SR16ve cams. Tell me thats not response.

This motor for sale will make crazy power everywhere with a properly sized turbo and a good tune. I would definetly do water/meth and all your problems solved right there. Still run pump gas. End of story.

Great price for all these mods! My current s14 KA is nearly the same. However, I chose Wiseco pistons and coated bearings.

I have some questions:

What cams are under that s13 KA valve cover?

You state the bearings are fresh, what condition were the previous bearings in?

How many re-ring and or bearing replacements have been performed and when was the last ring replacement.

If well maintained, cylinder bore info or at least current piston diameter for future rebuilds.

Guys commenting on the compression gotta do more research.

Good luck with the sale.
