What's up guys? I was driving my car the other dat and everything wuz great with no unusual sounds. The next morning, I cranked the car and let it warm up before leaving to go to the store. When I started driving, the turbo sounded like a freakin jet engine when it started to spool. I'm like WTF?!?!?!?!?!?!?! It's super loud on the inside of the car. I popped the hood and checked the intercooler piping to make sure it was secure and I couldn't find anything out of place. The car still boosts fine, but it misfires sometimes. Any suggestions or help guys? I don't know if this noise is harmless or if means the turbo is on its way out. BTW...the motor is a blacktop S14 SR20det.

on my last s13 the old turbo outlet studs stretched and started breaking and nuts started backing out which still held boost but lost power. check the downpipe elbow. mine sounded like a big diesel turbo truck but at first started as a loud jet engine noise from the outlet gap. check there too. good luck!
Also my downpipe elbow had two cracks in it which didn't help either.
