Anyone know how thick the stock head is on a SR20?
I need to get my block machined and am trying to make sure the pistons wont hit the valves.
I have a 1.1mm head gasket, so maybe I can get away with it, just trying to make 100% sure first.
Thanks in advance.

if im not mistaken, the maximum limit is .2mm. This number is figured by adding both the amounts of head and block resurfacing.
Examples:
.15mm head & .05mm block
or
.1mm head & .1mm block

.2 is a limit for resurfacing but you can take away more, it's your timing, lift of the valves, and valve size that matters, and of course the piston if you changed to a different height or design

Alright thanks guys.
I was just wondering cause my head needed to be welded and decked already so I needed to measure it to see how much I will be able to take off the block.
Do you think the S13 and S14 are the same size?

lol ! everything matters when you go beyond the limit...
Just have your machinist give a recommended thickness of head gasket unless you trust your numbers.
Or, I can build your engine!:bigok: I have Chucks SR (my old blacktop) on lockdown when hes ready for moer power.
pm me if interested.

And I just found out that stock headgaskets are 1.1mm.
God dammit.
Whatever i'll keep this one for another build.
