The wheels I have are 18x10" for the rears and 18x9" for the fronts.

For the tires, I'd like to get a bit of stretch but nothing too crazy. And I'd like the front and rears to be as even as possible in terms of stretch, sidewall, etc.

After doing some research, I've settled on 245/35/18 rear and 225/40/18 fronts and Federal tires. I heard Federals run a bit wide?

Anyone have the same setup, what do you think? Thanks

What car and what offsets? You doing this for clearance or not? Personally, I'd run 225/40-18 up front and 255/35-18 in the rears...

Well I don't plan on the rims to be poking out like crazy, more or less flush or a couple mm out

I was thinking about doing 255's in the rear, but looking at Federals they look a bit wide... I've seen pics of 255 on a 10 and they don't look really stretched, 265s would be squared

what do you think

I think the 245/35/18 rear and 225/40/18 fronts will be nice fit.

tire manufactures typically have specifications on almost all the tires they produce. They use a "ideal wheel size" for that specific tire and offer the outcome as a spec. All tires manufactures actual tire specs will vary (sometimes greatly) even if they are stated as the same advertised tire size family.

I always base my tire sizing decision to get them close to stock diameter as possible.

Right now for me it's actually between 215/40/18 and 245/35/18

OR: 225/40/18 and 255/35/18

Those 2 combos are really close front and rear in terms of diameter... I just can't decide how much stretch I want. I was looking at pictures of Falkens versus Federals and Falkens look like each tire is 10mm narrower than federals

its also depends how low your car is if you must modify to fit those tire sizes as well.
