Noob test pipe Q

Currently debating between a non-resonated test pipe and a resonated one.

Will there be a huge difference in terms of flow if I went with the resonated one? (SR swapped)

go high flow cat if you got the money, unless your poor like me, then go with the resonated test pipe. Quiet(er) and your not gonna lose that much power if even any. Plus, you wont have to come back to zilvia and post how you got harassed by cops because your car is too loud.

The only difference is that it'll change the sound wave so the non-resonated one will be louder.

The resonated is going to be quieter. There will virtually be no flow difference. Listen I know it's cheaper to run a test pipe and not a CAT but highflow cats are reasonably priced and you will make maybe 1 less hp than with a testpipe. Not to mention with a test pipe your car will smell like shit everywhere you go. Don't be an asshole to the environment just to save some bucks. Your kids will thank you for it,the planet will thank you for it and everyone around you will thank you when they don't have to smell the nasty coming out of your tailpipe. Just my opinion.

My same way of thinking about trying to help the environment, but i have an sr fuel consuming car, so i try and go green elsewhere.

New greenhouse gas legislation in effect. I help by eating more cows so they fart less and less poo. Most importantly, i try to fart less. Yes people, stop farting to make up for your cars emission.

if you stop farting then you will exploid. get the test pipe. who gives a shit how loud it is. as long as you dont sound like a honda your good. go with a staight pipe too. i have 3" from turbo back with no mufflers just stainless steel. sounds great and shoots black shit all over white cars lol

i run no cat or test pipe and its not that loud and i have only gotten pulled over once for exhaust being to loud and that was with the ka24e not the sr lol

well, I think it is more useful to look at this way:

1. 6-11hp with a test pipe. However, the noxious fumes are likely to mean that you will not have a girlfriend/boyfriend so that is really a gain in power and a loss of weight (b/c you dont have to roll with your gf in your baller ass stinky car)

2. 5-10hp with a highflow cat and a gf. Now, you have an infinitesimally slower car b/c of less power and another person in your car (because now you actually have a car your significant other will want to ride in) but you also have a significant other, which has many benefits outweighting 1hp.

So, really, it would seem to me you have this choice:

1hp + ~5hp equivalent from 120lbs less weight in the car (no gf :( )
------versus-------
Having a girlfriend (or boyfriend) and a car that doesn't make everyone give you stink-face

The choice is yours :D

Alternatively, if your significant other wont be riding in the car anyway, you could just lose ~18lbs from yourself or your car and then mathematically (I know not actually, but we are talking about paper racing when you get down to 1hp, so I dont need to be real world-y) your power/weight ratio would be the same as if you had added that 1hp.

P.S. No amount of hp will make up for stink-face
