Here's the dillema..

I can get a COMPLETE S14 Blacktop for 4200 CDN
Right now I have a '91 240 with 255,000Kms with the only mods being 180sx tails.
I had planned on doing this for about 2 years now, and I finally barely have enough saved up.. But...now I'm noticing some rust coming through in a couple spots, a 14" long section on the passenger rocker, and a couple tiny bubbles underneath the passenger back window. The foam spoiler is still on and looks cracked and ugly as hell, (but there's no rust YET) on the back. The car was repainted just before i bought it, I assume to cover up the rust thats now starting to come through. The other little bit is on the front strut towers. Now all this rust isn't really visable unless your looking for it. I also hate the red colour. To fix all this up and do a color change would be 4K CDN. Would this car even be worth dropping that kinda money into? After all is said and done, thats like 8-10K.... and for that total cost i could buy a newer car rust free 95+ I think its a good deal for the price, and I prob won't get that chance again..
I figure I can also sell the car now, before it gets bad, and get just about what i paid for it.. hopefully 3500ish CDN..

Rghh...I'm so confused as to what to do !! Anyone been in a similar situation, and have any regrets or praises??

Is it worth the $$$ to drop into a '91 thats starting to rust????

Rust on the strut towers? Rocker panels?

That car's toast.

That's EXACTLY why the car was repainted before you bought it. If the rust is coming through the paint, AKADriver is right. There are probably several other places that you haven't seen that are rusting through too. Have you been able to get a good look at the underside of the car?

Go for the S14. If your current car is already rusting, it's only going to get worse. I wouldn't want to waste any money on it putting a different motor in there.
