If you live in Atlanta and need a swap done beware of Killswitch. I took my car in Febuary of this year to KILLSWITCH hoping that it would be ready for the summer. Took it to Killswitch to have the rest of the work done. I had built the motor and had all the parts I just need them to take the motor out and put the new motor and tranny back in the car. Killswitch quoted me $1900 because they had to put on a FMIC, put the flywheel on, swap interiors brown to black (half done)and have it tuned I have a PowerFC D-jetro so I thought that was a fair price. I also came back later that week to ask them to swap in the coilovers, 5lug conversion and put in the big brakes and the suspension on which Killswitch quoted me another $700 so I expected the $2600 total. We ran into complications, needed a new gas tank because the other one had rust and my Freddy oil pan leaked so that cost me $160 in labor more and another $100 for a used tank and pan(total now $2900). Well the car took till April and it was not finished. The shop owner Tyler tells me that he would not tune it until I paid the balance of the $4400(minus the $1000 that I put down so $3400) well I had a buget set aside for $3000 for the car so when Killswitch hit me up for another $1400 I didn't have it so I told him that I would pay him the following month if he finished the car that I would pay him the entire amount in May, Tyler(the shop owner) tells me that he would not work on the car until he recieved the full amount because he said" If I have it tuned and it blows up then I will be out the cost of labor and the cost of tuning it." What shop tells a customer that, a bad one thats for sure. So in May I pay him the remainder of the balance around $2900 minus the tuning cost and credit for injectors that he sold for me. I was going to Chicago for a week so I asked him to have it ready and I would pay for the tuning afterwards becuse it had to be taken to another shop to be tuned. I get back from Chicago I call Killswitch several times and could not get a hold of anyone for a week, so I go to the shop to look at the car and it was not ready the tuning was not done the boost control was not wired in, BOV was not welded, and then Tyler (shop owner) tells me that the brand new PowerFC is not working right and that is why the car was not tuned, the BOV is not welded because he has no gas for his welder, and he tells me that he will have it ready in a couple of weeks (what does a couple of weeks mean? I thought 2 weeks). After a month and a half I was finally fed up so I pulled the car out at the end of August with the boost controller not wired, BOV unwelded, and still untuned. Then Killswitch tries to charges me for rear brake pads, and to reseal the oil pan which was a $150 more, now this is the oil pan that the shop put on after my Freddy one leaked so they charged me $80 for labor and $20 for the pan already, so they were the last one to seal it and wants to charge me again for the same job so when I told them I would not pay them again for the same thing the shop charges me pay for AutoZone brake pads for the rear $75( I didn't know Autozone brake pads were that much). Tyler (the shop owner) tells me that I need an alignment also because the entire new suspension was put on (I knew that) but before I can drive it that I need to tighten up all the bolts and nuts on the suspension and the nuts on the coilover springs were loose and car sat uneven so badly that there is about an 1.5 inch differnce in height from left to right. WHO LEAVES ALL OF THE SUSPENSION PARTS LOOSE ON A CAR? KILLSWITCH DOES. I got pics if anyone wants to see.
Ok I get the car out and take it to Lethal Injection because they are a Apexi tuner and hoping that they will be able to wire the PowerFC in correctly because I heard that thereis additional wiring to be done to make it function correctly for a D-Jetro. They went thru the mess that Killswitch left and repaired the harness in my car, Lethal Injection had to put in a new computer because the PowerFC that Killswitch put in got burned up somehow ( KILLSWITCH?). Lethal Injection also tuned it and had it in and out in a week. Lethal Injection looked thru the car they properly mounted the intercooler that KILLSWITCH had left loose and not mounted to the frame, welded the BOV and put in the boost controller. The car still has the original oil filter even though Killswitch charged me for oil and shop supplies ($50) and my brand new aluminum radiator has residue in and around the cap looks like build up (old antifreeze?), the power steering was bone dry, at first I though that they didn't put the DOHC lines in, but atleast they did put them in, they forgot the fluid. Tyler also told me that the brakes had a problem that he had to fixed cause they were leaking, but it looks like after further investigation that he either forgot to tighten the bleed valve or didn't have the lines on right and it spilled all inside my Volk GTU and ate away at some of the finish.
I finally got the s13 front end mounted on the car and I did this myself and went to drive it, now I find out none of my lights work either, so I can't even drive it, no brake light no parking lights no light except for the dash what a mess.
My advise to those that are thinking of going to Killswitch not to be fooled by the low price that Tyler at KILLSWITCH quotes you he does not stay with the quote and charges for things that he does not need to do (in my case seat belt computer, brackets, hose clamps, mics parts, shop parts, and other things that I don't see in the car) and does not credit you for things that he did not do, instead they tell you that they never charged you for them. Killswitch will give you a price and a time to completion and like I have read and experienced for myself 6 weeks means 6 months and I have not heard of a single person that has had a major work done by Killswitch that has not had problems. BEWARE of KILLSWITCH there are shops all around Atlanta that are better and more reliable.
