Ok this has become a problem for me its been about a year since ive had my sr and every time i do an oil change when i go to start it, the engine wont crank.

The only way i can get it to start is by rolling it down a hill in 5th and kick starting it.

the battery is not dead and everything works fine, lights, radio, seatbelt, etc.

this also seens to happen after drifting or driving hard.

could it be my starter or a bad ground? because in the past after I got it to start by kick starting it. it would start normally every time after that.

s13 black top btw. And it use to be automatic.

After an oil change makes no sense, you take out the oil drain plug and filter and refill no where in there does it have anything to do with starting, however for the hard driving and such if you let your car sit for say 30 minutes then go to start it will it start? if so you may have a bad starter, when starters get too hot even just from engine heat they will not crank due to them drawing to many amps that you battery can not provide fast enough

I bet when you go to pull the oilfilter off you hit the ground/power wires on the starter, check the connections and see whats up maybe can clean them or check and see if the ground is bad... Nissans dont like bad grounds lol...

i think thats what happened because i just remembered today that i had to push some wires away to get to the oil filter.
