ok, so basically i just swapped in a manual transmission into my zenki s14....it is a 93 s13 tranny mated to a manual non-abs front half/auto abs rear half driveshaft. Things brand new going into swap are the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, throwout bearing and pilot bearing. Used parts are slave cylinder, master cylinder, throwout bearing fork, all bolts, and tranny/driveshaft of course. So the car was lifted and all the parts swapped in. When dropped and first started the car initially was griinding....souded like maybe the throwout bearing....and then died. Second time i reved a little to keep idle up and then it started idleing properly. Basically made it home no problem from there but car still has a consistant grinding noise....i guess you could compare it to stress balls being moved around together...lol...anyways it also starts to smell like something is burning a few minutes into driving....this sux because i really dont wanna pull this whole thing apart and start over so any sugesstions would really help...im sure someone has had similar problems swapping before
