Since I've never actually done this before, I thought I might ask if this looks acceptable. Using the stock ring and pinion from my spare open diff, I installed a KAAZ two way. From what I've heard, as long as you keep the shims in the right place there should be no need to check the pattern. Just to be sure, I checked anyways. I painted several teeth with marking compound on both the drive and coast sides of the teeth, made sure to "load" the differential, and from what I can tell the pattern seems good. does anyone have any experience with this?

According to a 91-94 FSM, looks OK to me

^ that's what I thought but I wonder what a 0.005" shim in either direction would look like? It seems like you could actually have a range of "correct tooth contact" say +/- 0.020"...

I think I'll just run with this and check the ring gear after its seen some use.

Thanks for the FSM pic.
