I got a 95 240sx with 95k, I installed a CenterForce Dual Fraction clutch on my car. The clutch work great, soften my clutch pedal than stock clutch pedal, gribs really good. Problem is when i slowing down for a traffic lite or stop sign, (the car is about 3-7mph) It grinds when I try to put it on 1st gear. I already adjusted the pedal about 1 inch of free play and the clutch full engage about half pedal. Is that a clutch installation problem, tranny problem or clutch pedal ajustment problem that cause 1st gear to grind

dont think its your clutch
mine does that too, stock though. I just dont put it into first unless im stopped or very very close to it.
but it does grind sometimes when i try to. The grinding isnt directly your clutch tho, its something else

thank you for the reply, so do you think is a RWD problem only for RWD car that have the shifter on top of the tranny? My friends hondas that are FWD don't grind when they shift to first in low speed, is it because their tranny is link to the shifter via linkage

theoretically yes, the other end of your shifter is the gearbox itself. If I know what your thinking of you FEEL the grinding noise more than you can HEAR it.
Again, its not your clutch, dont worry about it. The 240SX has enough torque that taking off from a low speed in second gear shouldnt be a problem anyhow
good luck

could be your clutch master cylinder going bad. centerforce has a stiffer pressure plate so the master cyl, is prob wearing out.. otherwise your tranny synchro is going bad, not really something to worry about. just bleed the clutch system and see how it goes

had the same prob when I 1st bought my car.. it was the clutch master/slave cylinder.

because first and reverse have no synchros usually. thats why if your rolling slow and try to put it in first most tranies will grind a bit, and almost all of them do it in reverse if your rolling. your clutch is fine and so is the master cylinder.

Yea i also i have problems getting into first while rolling sometimes, i'll usually just wait till i stop now. Also sometimes i have problems getting into second when its cold out.

if you want to down shift to first while you're still rolling, tap the accelerator while you're trying to put it in gear and 'feel' when to shift. IE: rev match.

my car also does that. I dont use first much either, unless im stopped, i just to just do the rolling stop at stop signs (live in a small town, not really heavy amounts of traffic) it also is hard shifting when cold, but this came after using mobil 1 syn. gear oil
