Alrighty guys.... I got a question.

Last night I noticed that my clutch pedal started squeaking. The clutch itself seems to be engaging and disengaging just as normal, and so does everything else but the damn squeaking whenever i let off of the clutch pedal.

do i have anything to worry about? Or do you think that it is something that might just need to be lubed up?

Thanks alot.

You don't have to worry about. Just spray the spring/assembly with some WD-40. That should appease the problem for a while.:)

mine just started squeaking like two day ago. It's annoying. Maybe I'll get my lazy tail up and lube it while I finally take pics of my car.

Solution: Stop using your clutch

reasoning: when you don't use your clutch you don't hear any sqeeks!

That's funny, because my S14's clutch pedal squeaks too! It's a conspiracy I tell you.

My clutch squeaks, started squeaking a month after I bought the car... This was over 2 years ago. Tried WD-40, tried white lithium grease, clutch kept squeaking, and in an act of defiance, I think it sqeaked louder. Got a system, tried turning the radio up, funny thing happened, you can FEEL the sumbitch squeaking. I gave up... When people are in my car and ask "what's that squeaking?" I have become so used to it I don't hear it, so my answer is always "WTF are you talking about?"

alright yah'll.... i got the solution, so listen up...
mine was squeaking for about a year, got worse with time, and i couldn't take it!!! a girl riding with me said "it's cute, it's like it's trying to talk 'stop stepping on me!'" uh, yeah... cute...

i searched all over this forum, found that it *could be* a symptom that your throw-out bearing is failing... and it can go out completely if you let it go... on... leaving you stranded on the side of the road...

so i got my throw-out bearing replaced... but the thing is, it cost $20 or so for a TOB, and you gotta get in there with the clutch/flywheel, etc, so i just replaced the whole clutch assembly... big jack... but... no more squeak! (good excuse to up-grade though)

this is obviously a prob with 240s and NISSAN should pay for the fix... haha! oh well, do some searching on the forum for TOB, throw-out bearing and squeaky clutch pedal and you can find out if it IS your TOB or just a squeaky clutch pedal, if WD40 works for you then you're probably in the clear.

this is a different squeak. mine squeaked before AND after a new ACT clutch went in along with a different tranny and motor. and white lithium grease hasn't solved the problem either.

mine s14 squeks like a mofo too, my pedal squeaks, its normal, but if i roll down the windows i here a squeking from under the car. is this bad? my clutch has about 1500 miles on it, it may have always been happening, and it only seems to happen in neutral not moving. is this serious? i can sit with the e-brake on, and pressing the clutch makes a weird noise, its louder than the pedal squeiknig itself

thanks, matt

omg this is the same thing that is happening to my car. Damn squeeky clutch.

Mine only happens when I press the clutch down, don't really hear it when it releases except maybe a little.

I'm gonna try some grease and let you guys know. If it is a throw out bearing well then damn I will do that when I need to replace my clutch.

the majority of 240 owners have the squeak or will probably get it later on. Sometimes it can be fixed with some wd40 if its just your spring. My squeak was almost gone after lubing the spring. Like chockets said it could be the TOB.
