ok guys well i think i posted it a long time ago but it still seems to be happening still. i also finally got a pressure guage and ditched the idiot light.

this is what happens. when i start it up it has 0 oil pressure for about 30 seconds then it will go up to 35-40psi then after the motor warms up it drops to about 4-12psi at idle and 15-25psi wide open. its not the oil filter because i jus changed it 3 days ago and a new oil change. i was thinking it was a bad oil pump and ordered one from nissan yesterday for an arm+leg $258.38. any one else had this problem and what is the stock oil pressure supposed to look at idle and wide open.

By the way it is an SR20 Red top

thanks

Bad oil pump...stop starting the car now bearing you cook the bearings. Shouldnt take more than 3 seconds for your oil pressure to build up. 5 seconds tops if you have an oil cooler with no thermostat on it. 30 seconds of you waiting for it to build up is 30 seconds of you killing the bearing with no lubrication. 15-25 psi wide open is your clue. You should get a bar (14 psi) for every 1k rpm you have till 4-5k, so 5 bar atleast, specially when its cold.
