So I,ve nearly finished my Sr build about $4,500 bucks later i'm at the point where ive got just lifters and a timing chain left. I scoped out the timing chain price on mynismo.com and it was $250 bucks which i wasnt to stoked about. Ive seen a few kits on ebay for like $125-170ish and was wondering if anyone else has used these and had good luck with them. This one in particular comes with gears NISSAN SR20DET TIMING CHAIN KIT 2.0 DOHC S13,S14 89-98:eBay Motors (item 120405136317 end time Oct-08-09 14:14:00 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NISSAN-SR20DET-TIMING-CHAIN-KIT-2-0-DOHC-S13-S14-89-98_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhas hZitem1c08b493bdQQitemZ120405136317QQptZMotorsQ5fC arQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories)
Wich I found odd as the other more expensive kits come with none. I'm down to spend the $250 if I have to as quallity is always something on my mind. but If I can spend half that with nearly the same results, I would be pretty pumped. If anyone has any feed back that would be great. Thanks.

that ones not the revised version of the guide, so i wouldn't do it.
think they sell it 30 bucks cheaper on ebay if you get the oem nissan one. at least that's what i did. cheapest one i could find on the internet.

Hey dude I would suggest NOT going with that kit.
I purchased it a while back and was not too excited about the quality.
You can really tell why it is so cheap.
Yes, the OEM kit is more, but it is worth it for the quality.
Make sure you get the revised timing chain guides that are metal (versus plastic)

Also, a lot of cheap kits used powder metal gears instead of forged or cast metal. The pour powder into a mold and then heat it up till it melts. It doesn't always melt evenly and are prone to cracking.

I got the ka24de OSK timing chain kit from FRsport for 150 and the quality was there since it was made in japan but compared to OEM it didn't seem as nice. Everything works fine so far but my engine seems to clack a little bit louder, I don't know if it is the timing chain but I had my head re-done so I'm pretty sure it's not valve lash.
Honestly I would just bite the bullet and get the OEM one which is proven to work reliably..that extra 125 bucks isn't gonna make a world of difference later down the road anyway.
