View Full Version : whats this bar doing here?!

i got a jdm hvac cover...and when i go to install it...the damn thing is hitting a silver "exhaust type" looking pipe, behind and underneath my heating controls but above the stereo area
any idea what it is, if its necessary and if i can cut into ? =]
also anyone else have a jdm hvac control cover?

i believe that is connected to the chassis. makes it more rigid i believe.

ahaha that pesky little dash support/chassis stiffening crossbar? sure, take it out.. you don't need it... you don't need TC rods either.. :D :D :D

running with broken TC rods are fun! i went 2 weeks on a broken driver side TC rod bracket. Mass understeer when you try to turn, and going straight the car kept on wanting to slam into the wall. Hella fun. everyone should try it!
as for the shinny exhaust pipe thingy... i don't remember having one in that area...

It is pretty interesting driving w/ a busted TC rod. when I hit a pothole once at 65mph I didn't think twice about it until I couldn't drive the car straight. then try to brake hard and keep the car going in a straight line is quite the task:eek: :p
