And yes I know the title doesnt really fit...they are 2 totally different cars.. but here goes..


If I had the SR20 engine in my 93, it makes what 250 horses? (oh bring on the flaming if Im wrong..)

does anyone have this swap thats raced a Mustang GT? Did you loose or win??

What all have you raced with what you drive and how did you do?? Ill start:

1993 240SX vs 1993 Civic hatch (GS Powered)

I smoked him, hardcore. He hasnt talked to me since. I dont know how it happened myself

uhh def not 250 hp. for like 205 if you lucky.
anyways. a newer gt stang would smoke ya even with the baisc turbo bolt on stuff. but older gt stangs you might have a chance. now that saying they are stock. its just no fair they have 4 extra cylinders. it'd come down to a money battle. and he would get the more hp for the $. sorry

If you swapped in the s15 sr20det motor you would have 250hp, it depends on what racing your going up against the mustang gt for, he has a bigger motor, its just simply easier to pull more horsepower out of bigger motors, in a drag race the GT would be the one I would pick, if it were auto x I would pick the 240. All depends on what you want to do.

okay...let me briefly change the subject. Can this...this...250 horse S15 engine you speak of fit into my S13? (with reasonable work?)

It can definately be done. I think there's some minor fabrication needed for the swap. The thing is, though, that engine is pretty new, so it's going to cost an arm and a leg. Plus a lot of people don't really care for the VVT for tuning reasons. Not that it's a bad system, it can just get a bit complicated. You'd really be better off getting an s13 clip and spending the extra money on a turbo and intercooler upgrade, which could easily be had for the price of throwing in an s15 engine.

Im still debating a lot of things with what to do to my car. Maybe I should just get a bus pass for the next like... 8 years and use the savings for a 350Z

Bullshi+, I was out last night in my car and I raced a new mustang GT. He beat me, but it was so close that I lost all of the small amount of respect for mustangs. I wish I had a video camera, even though I lost. WHAT HAPPEND: I pulled up to a light, and a guy with his girl pulled up in a new burgandeeish mustang GT with flows. The light took for ever, and the whole time I was telling myself, "he is going to want to race, he is going to want to race, I dont realy car about being beat, but I thought he would stomp my ass. I was wondering if he was going to launch, but unless he reved his engine I was not going to. The light turned green, and I slowly started driving foward. He was a little behind me, but shortly pulled up beside. We both were doing about half the speed limit (20mph) baraly exelerating, holding up the cars behind us. We both started evening our selves out by easing on the gas. Then BOOM, we both darted off. As we climed through second gear, by the time I sifted into 3rd, my bumper was at the back of his front tire. And at the end of 3rd my bumper was just behind his back tires. At that point going about 80 we both stopped, And he went Exactly the speed limit with me driving behind him for the next 5miles, with any other extra mod I would have got him, even 100octane it was so close. I wonder what he was telling his girl friend? "He must of had NOS" or "thats the turbo version". Nope, As I am awaiting for my sr swap next month I kept engine mods minimum. The mods I have done to the engine are, Intake, Trust catback, removed cat, Removed ac system, Removed resinator, Electrice fan conversion, ASP crank pully, 10.3mm wires, and a 150pnd weight reduction. with that stuff I am probably sitting at a honost 170-175hp 'n' 175-180torq with my car weighing in at 2553. The ka has a crap load of potential, I dont headers, or anything internaly , but you could make one hell of a NA ka. And dont worry about hp too much, ITS ALL ABOUT POWER TO WEIGHT< I REPEAT POWER TO WEIGHT!!! my friends are finishing a 45min street racing video called "ATL STREET RACING" One of the main cars is a s14 with a sr20det, IN the video he spanks his friend that is driving a 98 cobra which is like 305hp + basic boltons. The s14 had 220 hp at the time and spanked him 3 times in a row, and to top that off the guy in the cobra cheated on the third go by taking off on the secound honk, and still lost. So that crap about mustangs being cheaper to mod is a bunch of crap. With 250hp in a 240 is = about 350hp in a mustang, Its all about power to weight. If you think I am full of shi+, the video will soon be done and I will post it for you to see for your self. I am going in about a hour to dyno my car at my friends at BATLGROUND ENGINEERING, so I can see exactly my power output. I am doing it for ****s and Gigles, since I am getting rid of the KA in a month. I am gessing it will be about the hp stated above. What ever the hp is, I dont really care, I know my cars 0-60 is definatly in the 6's, no bull I promise. but any way a sr20det with basic bolt ons will stomp a hole in a cobras ass, far aswell a new mustang gt, you got to be kidding. I have a subaru WRX raced a Mustang GT newer ones with exhaust system... from a roll of 30 he beat me by 1 car legnth.. and from a roll i beat him 2 1/2 cars and he couldnt catch up

It was probably a v6.

No, I promise it was a V8, My friend has a v6 version with duel exhaust and it sounds nothing like the 4.6 with flows. Though it was probably automatic, but with so much torq its not as bad of a diff as 4cl cars. It was also burgandy, and I dont think the v6 came in that collor. And If he was trying to make it look like a GT, he would have to get the rear bumper thats said GT and GT embems. But I know that was a v8 from the sound of it, I could not hear my engine that MF was so loud, But as expect, people belive what the want to belive, and I know what I know.

Ive beat mustang Gt's before in my 95 gsx, it had 210hp at the crank + whatever hp intake and exhaust gave me, but you guys are missing the point, when modified for drag a mustang GT will have more potential for less dollar amount then a 240, but, if you spend more money it can be done, you can modify a 240 to be faster then the GT if you have the money, in japan I know there is a 180sx that is RB26DETT powered that has ran 6 seconds, anything can be done these days with new technology. The only thing is is that technology is expensive :) So if you have the money you can make the 240 quicker then the average GT, there are many ka-t 240's along with sr powered 240's in the 12 to 11 second range and are street cars, also Jun has an 8 second S14, so basically if you have the money or the hookups to build a car like that then yea you can get the 240 faster.

Also, average cost for an s15 motor with everything is close to 5g's, s13 motors run as low as 1300 dollars depending on the miles and who you buy it from. If you buy an s13 with the extra money you save you can build 300+ hp car.

What part of ga do you live in? Do you know shane or amar? I believe their part of a video called atl street racing or something like that.

I live in marietta. I only know Of the main kid that is filming it, Black s14 sr20det, his name is John. Anouther kid with a yellow supra named Adam, and our freinds at Batlgound Engineering are out there with us, showing everyone what a black 1300hp supra can do(on 75), its funny, It almost looks like a cartoon that how fast that shi+ is. There are about ten more people but I dont know their names. A bunch of crazy driving. Cars were damaged in the making of this video, and that kid John also rides a r6 and was doing tricks on the highway, and wrecks at 90mph. He survived but got hurt, but a couple of days later he's back as the camera man once again. It really is a fat ass video. It will be done soon and I will have it on my webpage, but I will post it here for everyone see.

horsepower is great but you cant tell me a n engine half the size can match that torque. I raced the Gt and I can drive too. My car isnt so heavily modded at all but there isnt a chance in hell. You cant tell me a 240 (even with some mods or not) will nail you to your seat to 150 mph. Not pull, but I mean NAIL you to your seat.

What the hell nails you to the seat at 150mph? We are not talking about indycars here, and even those dont nail you to the seat at that speed. If you are talking about a mustang, you must be smoking crack, or you have a mulit and you defend the mustang for it is in your blood, or you just strait up dont know what the hell your talking about. Maybe nail wasnt the word to use, maybe PUSH or Press or HOLD would have grabbed you better. I am only saying that when you are accelerating up to 150 mph its real hard to get your head off the back of the seat.

And I really dont appreciate people who saY I dont know what Im talking about, its just rude
