i just want to make sure im correct with this:
I went to advance auto parts and got all my oil stuff to do my oil change, i have an SR20DE NA and since my last car was a DET i got the same filter i always get (from a 92 SE-R), well thats what i asked for today and the guy either gave me the wrong one bc it wouldnt fit, or the NA SR's use a different one (which i think not bc is my motor is exactly the same as an SE-R one).

I went back and in fact he gave the right one, i did some research and it all says that i got the right one but it just doesnt screw in!!!! and the old one screws in like nothing!!
Help please!!!!

motor is an S14 SR20DE
THANKS!

may the the threading is bad.

other than that i would say check the part number , compare it to the old filter.

He probably gave you the wrong one. I've never had trouble with SE-R oil filters on my SR20DET

My 14 DE and 14 DET use the same filter. You can use about any filter as long as the threads are right and it's close to the same diameter. M20x1.5 for a 14 motor and 3/4 unf-16 for a 13 motor

Check the fourth post in this link:

it gives you the oil filter for the S14 SR20DET, try that one.

Get a 95 SE-R filter since you're using an S14 block. 92 SE-R for S13 blocks.
