Yes, I've searched and roughly learned the process

Not going to lie, I'm lazy and don't want to scratch the shit out of my windows

Anyone know of tint shops in SoCal that will remove my tint for cheap? Any input/information will be appreciated. Thanks

tint shops charge more to remove tint than to put it on. I would say at least 150 for all your windows to remove and maybe 120 to put in new tint.

Haha, I was reading through the "removing tint" threads and there were people getting it done for less than $50, so I thought I'd ask the board

Dude..... take and spray that bitch down with some good degreaser and take black trashbags over the window so it gets super hot and then sit back and peel..... so much easier than it sounds but for real it's easy. first window took me like 30 min the rest took like 5 a piece

I misted the outside of the window with water so the trash bag would stick and painter's taped it down. Sprayed the inside of the window with Simple Green and let it sit for 30 minutes with all windows up to let it cook. Then went in with razor blades and am still removing remnants.. Haha

goo gone is the same as nail polish remover,

when i used goo gone for the spray vinyl it took longer then it took with lacquer thinner
lol

Goo Gone and Goof Off can be found at many places, but it's mostly used to clean up the leftover glue AFTER you remove the tint.

yeah,
pretty much all you need is to heat up the glue so you can peel off the tint
and go from there with removing the glue with goof off/goo gone/lacquer thinner.

I'm switching out both of my doors so they'll be clean up front, and tinting the back three at about 75%.. Nothing major so I'll get less shit

Wouldn't a can of acetone work too? I just can't imagine it being that hard and worth even $50 to pay someone to remove it..

I removed the tint today with one of my roommates.. Decided I wasn't THAT lazy haha. Yeah acetone and ammonia both work but Simple Green is less harmful.. May take a little longer but I didn't really care because I had Simple Green on hand

Got my current car in a straight trade. Needs alot of interior/exterior work, including the old, cracking, bubbly tint. So I needed to remove it
