A buddie of mine is selling a 1990 240sx.. the car had a dent on the rear quarter panel... so he fixed the dent, and just sanded and primered the whole car.. so the body is in pretty good shape...

he just got done installing a red top sr20det. he ran it for like a month and a half., and then it just stopped running. he had a nissan tech come out to the house and look at it and they decided that it was the wiring harness... so now he is tired of dealing with it, and he is looking for an s13 coupe..

Mods that he has done

K&n intake.
blitz dd BOV
stock side mount and piping.
walbro fuel pump
Eibach springs

the car did run, and now he is just tired of ****in with it. so he said that he would sell it to me for $3500...

should i do it conisdering whats wrong with it?

He pulled the interior.. he still has it as well as all the stock parts from the swap..
he swapped the guts on the tranny from a ka, he has the JDM cluster, pedals, corner lights, strut bars, eibach springs

i would do it (if i had the money of course) assuming its just the main wiring harness, it shuoldnt be hard to fix, just take it off and send it to heavy throttle (srswap.com) and it shuold be fine
correct me if im wrong any1

i would get it if i were you, 3.5k isnt bad, counting has an SR and you said body is fair. wirings can be done, but try to get someone else to look at the engine to get another opinion.

I would be very suspicous of it. Thats very cheap and even if the body is primered running that should be a 5k car. I think there is more wrong with it than he is admitting. Why install a SR in the car and a month later sell it for dirt? most people that put SR's in and sell the car get real good money for the cars. I may be wrong but I would be very careful if I were you. At that price you could be getting someone else's headache. plus having seen cars with wiring problems . I would say unless you know a good wire person or are good at it yourself it will be a hassle. thats my opinion

I have been.. we are gonna go do a compression check today. he has had the car for awhile. its just been sitting. he had it up and running for a month and a half, but then one day he was trying to install some gauges into it and it just fried itself.. i think he arced something, or shorted something out. cause he said that he found the wire that fried, and it was a ground loop wire that starts in teh dash and wraps in with teh harness and goes into the engine bay. when that wire went it took a few others with it. . but the car is in pretty good condion...

he said that he never hooked up the power steering so the car needs a new rack and pinion plus it needs all the **** hooked up to it.. he also has the a/c compressor, and if i bought it iwould want a/c s

so how hard do you think it would be to hook that stuff up?
