Yes, I have searched and havn't found much help.
I have a redtop sr20det in my '89 hatch and it has horrible cold starts. The battery and ground are fine. The starter has no problem turning the engine over. The engine starts up no problem when warm. I believe it may be a problem with fuel delivery, but I really don't know. If you guys have any input I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Define bad cold start? Like having a hard time cranking over when its cold?!?! Do you have to gas it to start it, and keep gassing it till it gets somewhat warm???

Did you do the wiring yourself?
Theres an orange wire/silver stripe that connects to the dash harness (small white rectangular plug) that a lot of people don't hook up. It gives the ECU +12V on that pin when the engine's cranking, so it dumps fuel into every injector instead of just one, helping the engine 'catch'.
FRSport's S13 SR into S13 writeup covers it well, with pics.

It doesn't have a hard time cranking when cold; and I don't have to keep it gassed, just idles at a higher rpm when cold.

No I didn't, my car came with the swap complete
Thanks, I'll look into that and update the thread later

wait.. bro, are you saying that it just IDLES HIGH when engine is cold?!?!
Does not have a problem starting when cold.
Does not have a problem starting when warm.
Just IDLES HIGH when cold.
my next question, does the HIGH idle go down after a couple of minutes when the engine gets warm?

No, it does have a problem starting when cold AND idles high as engines usually do when cold.
It has no problem starting when warm.
Yes, the idle goes down to around 750-775 rpm when warm.

How high is the idle cold? I saw it at like 2k, but i think you were gassing it? Usually the car just idles high until it warms up Peter.

Around 1300. I know it idles high when warming up.. That's not the problem Avery. Haha

That actually removes the coolant temp sensor from the list of possible problems. If you want to roll out to my garage in the 626, I can diagnose it for ya, and fix it if needed in less than an hour.
PM me if you need more help than the FRsport guide gives.

Cold starts have been fixed. Used Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner and now it's fine. Must've just been dirty injectors

check ur FPR on few occasions debris can lodge in diaphram and cause fuel pressure to drop when parked for a few hrs or usually overnight. so the engine will act similar to a lawn mower when it runs out of gas surge then dies. in ur case it s pressure up then stabilizes.

disconnect the vacuum line to FPR and see if theres fuel in it should be dry.

This is the first time I've heard this, and might be the reason why sometimes my f.p. is down a few psi every once and a while when I start the car.
But how could anything get into the FPR? If you have a well-functioning fuel filter, how can anything large enough to "lodge" in the diaphragm get in there in the first place....?

No idea. Also changed my Z32 fuel filter the other day..

I got the car from peter.. it does have cold starts. I asked him if he upgraded the fuel pum to the 255 walbro and he told me it was stock. so I tink that would be the answer. Another thing I gave it some gas by turning the key back and forth like 5 times. And it started right away. So to my conclusion I tink is the fuel pump. What do u guys tink. Also the sr is boosting 11 pounds. And I feel like it borgs down at hi rpm. Like it needs more fuel.
