Post DD6 Party

So I was talking to another Zilvia member and we were thinking that it would be fun to make a weekend event out of DD6. Since there are not many events in NorCal we might as well make the most of it! We were thinking of either finding a house, or renting something (Townhouse, hotel....), where we could have a little after DD6 get together. I know this is kinda far off, July 5th, but I wanted to see if anyone would be interested so that way I could start looking into stuff...
Let me know what you think, and any ideas you have.

Haha... DD6 afterparty... that sounds fun(ny)! I'd stop by, definitely! ... you might want to make sure there's space for ppl to sleep (not just you norcallers) though, in case some people can't make the drive home from it. :D

Sounds like fun! I'll be the first to admit that I'm not particularly into that "scene", but it's always nice to hang out with fellow drivers!

It would definitly be at a place where people could bring sleeping bags and crash overnight (as long as people can handle the floor). I would hope that all you socal folk would come as well, it's not just a norcal party:). Just think of it as a huge slumber party! Glad to see you would show up, the more cool people willing to come the better!

I do promise to get some women for all you guys out there. I do realize that the male/female ratio in the car world is a little off. I can't promise that any of them will be interested in hearing what type of car you have...or anything else car related...but they'll be cute, and in the end isn't that what matters. ;)

Kurissus13: I'm not sure exactly where the party is going to be held, but for now it looks like it is going to be at my house, which is located in santa cruz. About an hour fifteen from dd6. Hayward is much closer to SF, but I promise the party will be worth the drive!

RBS14: You're going to be in ALASKA!!!!! And you have a girlfriend...so no input is allowed about needing more girls for the party. :D

I want people to give me more ideas for the party...come on people...brainstorm...this one needs to go down in the Zilvia history books.

You are more than welcome to bring your own girlies...but I will try to recruit some of my cute friends to come over and party. The only thing you should definitly bring would be a sleeping bad, pillow..etc. I have enough floor space, and couches, but not enough blankets.

Other than that...I think it's going to be a blast. And I'm sure that there will be plenty of stupid drunken behaviour that will be regreted in the morning (but isn't that what getting drunk is all about :p)

It's no longer known as 3com...they only had the name for a few years, and they didn't renew their sponsership. I hated it when people called candlestick 3com.

I am fully aware of the fact that people are going to be exhausted, so I will try to make it as exciting as possible. I love dance parties, so I'm thinking that dancing will have to happen :). I'm sure that if everyone is having a good time that it will give energy to all those who are tired. Plus, it'll be too loud for anyone to sleep.

I kinda need to get a priliminary count of how many people are serious about attending the party? I need to one...warn my roommates, two...warn my neihbors, and three...know how much suplies I'm going to need to buy. So if you know you are coming 100% let me know, as well as how many people you are bringing alond with you. I just need a rough idea if this party is going to be like 50 people, or like 200 people.

Unfortunately, I don't know if I'll be able to make it to the post-DD6 party. :( I have a (summer school) final on the 8th (tue) and am also leaving later that (8th) night. If DD6 is on the 5th, we stay until 6th, get back 6th night, I have 1 day to study and pack before I sit my final then leave for the far East. :eek: That's a little much for we simple minded folk!

Dousan...The car is up and running, and I plan on driving it in DD6. I still have to install my roll cage and harnesses, and get an LSD, but other than that the car is almost done. I am currently stripping the paint off so that I can prime it, which is more difficult than I thought it would be.

For anyone who needs the info...the party is going to be at my house in Santa Cruz after DD6. If you plan on going to DD6 you can get directions to the party from me, if you can't make it to DD6 but you still want to come to the party AIM me, my screen name is Taxisocks.

If it is all fixed you can most likely take my car for a spin, unless of course I'm having such a blast driving that I don't want to give it up. I'm warning you though...6 puck clutches are a pain in the butt sometimes...it was so hard for me to get used to it. i believe he was thinking of an RB25 at first...but upon further research the custom fabrication and cost became a little bit too much...

also i think there was something about it throwing off the weight balance more then he wanted...

but this is just speculation..

Yeah, i was gonna go rb25. Everyone says they weight this they weigh that,blah blah. They are heavy motors. front/rear weight distribution gets thrown off. I'm into drifting so a heavier motor doesn't make sense. S14's are pigs to start with, they don't need any more weight tacked onto them. Basically i look at it like this: RB25's are heavy and produce tons of power. So the weight makes them worse for drifting and grip (understeer). The only other kind of racing you have left is drag, without major suspension mods and fabbing, the independent rear suspension sux for drag. When all of the weight of the car transfers to the back and you instantly get tons of neg. camber. That camber shrinks your contact patch, making for less grip. Note i say without tons of $$$$$. With tons of money you can do nething. And i'm broke so a $5000 motor swap isn't easy on the wallet. That is why i think RB's aren't the best motors for 240's. KA's however are!!!

KA's have more torque than SR's and you can get all the replacement parts for reasonable prices whenever you want. No $200 used starters or wack sh^t like that. But i have no intention of turning this thread into a motor debate. Sooo, i put my LSD in yesterday, wow does it make a difference! I had no idea it would be so dope.
Its a million times easier to initiate, control, and hold longer when exiting. Its just a stock VLSD but damn! It was worth every penny. :D

cost is $100 for drivers and most likely free for spectators. You have to sign up at www.club4ag.com If you are serious about driving, check often to see when registration begins because it fills up quickly. Most ppl get there about 6:45am.

I can't believe that it filled up so quickly...I'm stoked that I was able to get a spot.

On another note...my housemates have decided to move out on july 12th. They are screwing me and anther housemate over by making us pay 700 a piece for 12 days worth of rent. As you can imagine I am pretty pi$$ed off. So, what I have decided is that my party needs to be soooooooo fun that it makes me not feel so bad for having to spend so much money in rent.

Basically, I am inviting a $hit load of people, and it's going to be crazy. I havn't gotton much interest in a toga party, so I was thinking Hawaii luau...lots of tiki lamps and nifty tropical decorations...what do you all think? I promise to get as many girls as I can to come...for all you single boys I will do the best I can;)

Can't wait to see you all at DD6 and then at the party after!

they really don't let many people in as spectators after the initial drivers and all get there...

so if you go in with the participants you are guaranteed a spot...if you come after it's up in the air as to when they will decide to shut the gates...

ok ok ok....Looks like there was a lot of activity on this thread while I was away!

First off...MY WHEELS DO NOT SUCK! I love them so much, so stop talking sh1t. Not that I really care since it's my car and I can do whatever I want to it. (Thanks NZO) Plus, I did get the hyper silver ones, which I think look very nice!

Second, my car is completely primered now....although I might get it painted before the event, it just depends on when the cash comes :) If all goes as planned I will have an lsd in my car by this weekend, or early next week.

I'm sure if you have trouble finding me at DD6 just ask around...I have a feeling that there are not going to be a ton of girls there. (Unless all the guy drivers bring their girlfriends:D)

I have a feeling that not many people are going to want to bring food and drinks, so I'm hoping that everyone can just kick down some cash. BUT...if you want to bring drinks, or food, please do so.:)

I'm thinking that there will be anywhere from 50-120 people. I already know about 40 who promissed to come, and that doesn't include any DD6 people. Just remember to bring a sleeping bag if you plan on crashing at my house. There will be tons of floor space since I am moving out and have barely any furniture left. (Which means there better be people willing to dance ) :D

I commend you for taking the brunt of the responsibility here and throwing a party. I just had a question about the event itself. My friends went to the last DD event and while they got there early, many others were not allowed in due to space/safety constraints. I know this will probably be true of DD6 (as explained on their webpage about spectators).

So what will happen if a large group of us, especially since many of us who have posted on this thread didn't want/get a chance to register for this event show up later? I for one, have intentions of spectating but for some of us who want to come later -- we might rejected at the front gate, how do we find you? Will you be outside for a bit after the event to give directions? (If anyone else knows, I'm looking at Dousan here --- do they let everyone into the event after its over?)

I'd hate to show up a little later (9 am) only to be rejected at the front gate cuz I dont' want to wait outside for 8 hrs. :doh:
If anyone can suggest a way to have information available at the event, post it here.

U should make directions on your computer to ur house and make tons of copies to hand out at DD6. Then go ask the event coordinator to announce your party at the driver's meeting! That's a sure way to make sure you get a good turn out.

how was it? i was waaaaaay too tired.
got home around 7ish...slept around 8:30 pm and woke up about 9:45 the next day....

I totally understand that you didn't show up...I'm still trying to figure out how I was able to stay up until 2am. The party was a blast, everyone got really trashed and had a good time. There were probably like 50 people theree, so it was a good amount. Looking forward to coming down to DD7!
