I'd get 2 relays if I were you, 1 per headlights. Basically, make another set of harness to power up the headlights. You tap straight from the battery into the switched relay, and the other side of the switch into the HID. Use the stock power line to turn the relay on/off.
Look around HIDPlanet, they got a generic wiring schematic somewhere in there.

I didnt have to rewire anything for my HID kit.
I went from zenki to kouki as well.

Well sorry but Im gonna have to bring this back from the dead. I too am currently in the process of doing an HID retrofit in my Kouki headlights.
First to answer the question that has been posted about the picture, the plug in the lower right hand corner is meant to be the factory headlight harness plug. You use the factory headlight harness to activate the relay. From there all the power the HID's need is pulled directly from the battery.
Now my questions is, since I have a kouki and already have that factory headlight relay, do I still need to install the inline diodes to make the low beams stay on when I turn the highs on? Also how will this effect what happens when I just flash my high beams?
I thought I remember reading somewhere that the diodes weren't needed in the kouki models. I recently had to reformat my computer so I lost all my links and for the life of me cant find the write up again. I have a painless h4 wiring kit that I plan to cut up and make work for my setup but dont want to start till I figure out the diode situation. Once again sorry to dig up such an old thread but any help would be appreciated. Thanx, Cameron
