scratched cams and cam journals repairable?

Hey, I just took off some of the cam journals from my KA motor and found some scratches.. Will this be repairable or would I be better off with a new head? The journals also have identical scratches.. (and yes, I know the shafts are dirty, they were clean when I opened it up)

check your Oil pressure too.

Yeah, my oil pressure was fine.. The bottom end looks perfect.. I bought a new head but I'm curious if this one can be repaired..

it probably can be fixed, but will be cheaper just to get new head and probably set of cams.

KA cams are cheap. maybe 25 bucks for the set.

Yeah but the journals are also scratched similarly too... Anyways, I picked up a new head complete for $100.. I'm just waiting for the guy to send me the cam journal caps when he finds them..

Most machine shops have a line hone that can remove the scratches... I would try that before I jumped into an unknown head.

If anyone is curious and has a similar case, the head and cams are still usable.. Just need to sand it will some 400grit sandpaper or higher(finer) to remove the high edges and re-install them..
