cheesy SRT-4 video.
you can find the link below. It is basically about a kid borrowing his older brother's SRT-4, picking up a hot chick and beating a Subaru WRX and racing home before his brother finds out he took the car.
Still, it's nice to see an American car company beat the imports at their own game. It is kinda scary that many wreckless teenagers will be able to afford this car which has some serious power.

Car kinda sounds nice, its got like a mini v8 rumble to it.
2.4L cars rule :p. They should use the same engine (beef it up a little) and slap it in a RWD car, but dodge doesn't really have any small RWD cars.
The vid is kinda stupid but gets the point accross, cheap fast affordable (still ugly IMO) car that young kids can drive and love.
its not bad I kinda liked it :D

ACK....I can't believe dodge made that crap. It reminds of the F&F when he was driving "fast" and everything started blurring. So corny... I need to go find where I downloaded that too and delete it

That video was 2 fast and 2 furious...i bet dodge gets some heat for promoting street racing:D ....but on a serious note the srt-4 is not to be messed with, people will find out quick that they can hold thier own, not saying that they are the fastest car ever but they got some go

Dodge even allowed this video to promote their car? Wreckless teenages, racing, speeding through busy intersections. I really hope they know what theyre doing... On the other hand, the car sounds really nice, looks 'speedy' and also looks to be lots of fun. I might just go to a Dodge dealership just to test drive it:p
What you fail to understand is that it's a promoting tool. So a million civics are sold and half of them receive a motor and/or turbo, 240sx were sold here with the red headed step-child motor, Pontiac's Trans/Am only promotion was the car revving and sitting at staging lights,.... Dodge promotes it to increase sales and in that aspect, they won. Everybody street races, either a Hyundai, Honda, or Hummer! They took the best of all worlds and gave it power. Nissan couldn't sell the Silvia here because it would've competed against the 300zx, Ford axed the turbo Probe, because they were being modded and beating the Mustang, GM axxed the Camaro/Trans/Am because they hampered Corvette sales. Get it now guys? The SRT-4 will never substitute the Viper.

Some parts i disagree with, like Everybody Street Races. Only idiots street race. Also, youre saying that at least 500k Civics have FI/EngineSwap done to them annually? Also, the f-body werent discontinued because they hampered with Corvette sells. Corvette will always sell. Find a guy thats lacking self-esteem or lacking in other categories, and youll always find a buyer for the Vette:p The F-bodies were stopped because the Mustang just kept killing them in sales and GM werent really making any money off of them.

A few FDs have had some runs with em, and they won :D, but I have heard and seen some vids of highway races and the SRT-4 winning quite a few.
Either way cars are getting faster, no matter if its a luxury car or sports car, or SUV. More and more cars are reaching 14 second 1/4 miles stock that aren't sports cars.
Doesn't the SRT-4 boost at like 18 psi stock though? I am waiting for some kid to raise the boost and blow the engine, but who know how strong the engine is.

The ECU is set to allow a few seconds at 14psi then cut back to 11psi. I'm guessing the factory quoted 215hp at the crank was measured at 11psi, and the dyno measured 220hp at the wheels comes only during the 14psi 'overboost' period.
I have no doubts about this engine's strength. Mopar has been doing the turbo 4cyl thing since 1984, and those '80s turbo engines are renowned for their durability in race conditions running as much as 30psi.
And it's good that it's still a Neon. That means it's inexpensive and has the chassis of an SCCA showroom stock champion.

Have you ever driven/owned one? What's your support for that statement?

I mercilessly flogged this car for two years, day in and day out. It never let me down or left me stranded. It had solid, direct steering, an excellently balanced suspension, great brakes, and an engine that was more than willing to bounce off the 7200rpm limiter.
Aside from aesthetics there is nothing to hate about this car.
