im almost positive you cannot just drive the car across the border and sell it.

contact your DMV and whichever state DMV your buddy is from.

and check with the Canadian and US customs, because technically you are exporting a car from Canada and importing a car in the US

You "technically" can't do that. The buyer needs to send papers (bill of sale, registrations, etc..) to the customs 72h before the car crosses the border. You're not suposed to do anything as the "seller".

Why can't someone drive across the border from Canada to go shopping in Washington, and take a bus home, of course don't tell the border patrol you are selling your car.
Mexicans drive into the us every day do work, only to drive back that evening

when you go to register it, the car will be registered in Canada not the US. how do you get past that?

LOL guys come on. you DONT/SHOULD NOT REGISTER IT. simple as that. use it as a track car and nothing more. are you like, TRYING to throw money away???

i dont understand how people dont get it. you cant legally register/drive a skyline UNLESS its a motorex r33. simple as that. the feds will come and take it away.

best way to have a skyline in the US is as a track car, and have NO PAPER TRAIL.

that way they cant look it up.

bringing a GTR over is wasting money. you can buy an Evo or STi legally and it will still perform better than most GTR's. plus more parts available for them.

Idk bout you guys in Cali but it would be super easy here in CO to register any imported car. Buy a piece of shit car thats the same make, with a salvage tital. "rebuild" it as a GTR. Easy.

there are two pulsars that the feds around memphis and nashville have been tryn to get a hold of for a while they just keep changing owners so a pulsar is out of the question i think too but thats just how it is here

On a related note, a guy from my350z was moving back to canada and shipped his car to meet him there. Car got seized at the border and he got fined with illegal parts smuggling.
They confiscated about $17,000 worth of parts if I remember correctly. (which I prolly don't, but it was a lot of premo stuff)
