hello to all ,
i have an sr20det red top, with a built head and stock bottom end bigger turbo, injectors , pfc. the works.. the car ran great till my stem seals were going bad.. lots of blue smoke on Decel so i changed the stem seals ran great no smoke... Now im getting blue smoke on Accel "Tons of it". well the other day i was driving to work and my car started to feel hesitant then i lost power .. i went form driving 55mph to not being able to go over 25mph.. the car sounded like a SUBARU.. i pulled off the road and it died... i tried to start it back up and it started and i was able to drive half way back home, it drive pretty normal and then about 1/3 mile latter the power loss and subaru sound came back.. lucy me i was in a 20mph zone and i putted back to my garage, when i got home i did a comp test and cyl#1 was 135, cyl #2 was 130, cyl #3 135, cyl#135 . cyl #3 and #4 spark plugs were coated in oil
i changed the spark well gaskets, valve cover gaskets, valve stem seals, head gasket.
any advise will be appreciated. thank you in advance

my turbo is new gt30 BB. smoking at idle i know is caused by a blow turbo but im having blue smoke on acceleration.. on the dyno i was able to hold 21psi no problem. but now im just confused because im getting the same symptoms as bad valve stem seals but i just replaces the stem seals and instead of smoke on decel its on going with accel. so im thinking its my rings .. but i would like someones professional opinion on what the problem might be ..

130-135 psi is pretty low but still within the tolerance per FSM. My guess is since you're getting oil into the chamber, its killing your spark, hence making it sound like a subaru since your not firing in 1 or 2 cylinders. Clean up your spark plugs and start it again, I bet itll run okay again. The problem is you're still getting oil into the chamber. Its either coming up from piston rings or its coming from the head. Pour a cap full of oil into the cylinders and see how high the compression jumps up. If it jumps up alot, then your rings are done.

i did a comp test with a cap of oil and the readings were #1cyl 150, #2 150, #3 153, #4 155... bad rings i take it ?

i think you fried your turbo after buring up all your oil with the leaking valve stems. pull the inlet and spin it.

Did you not read the thread? It says not smoking at idle like a turbo that is blown would do. The turbo is obviously perfectly fine. How do you expect him to lose enough oil with leaking valve stem seals to cause the turbo to not get the oil it needs? Oil in the combustion chamber is caused by two things: Worn valve stem seals or worn oil rings. If he has replaced the valve stem seals then what else could it be?

If you have no idea what your saying then just dont bother dude...He said he wants professional advice.

he said in his original post that he drove the car untill it died. EVEN after he noticed it blowing white smoke. what does that tell you.

turbos can blow in different types of ways. if the turbo bearings/seals are going he will only get smoke when the car spools up(moving) and squirting the oil out.

He should do a leakdown test like the other guy said but if it passes that then its the turbo.

thank you all for taking the time to reply, every opinion and suggestion made narrowing down and diagnosing the problem a lot easier. thanks again
