from what i can get out of my search the b&m ss are the only ss that have adjustable height... i was wondering if anyone can tell me how much the shifter drops and if its adjustable.
thank you in advance,

how much of a drop from stock?
like badmojo said, i don't believe the b&m short shifter is shorter, height-wise. it's the same as stock height.

the B&M juss has the shortest throw in every direction side to side and up and down..but if u want the shortest throw and shortest height..cut the B&M haha

I just put the B&M in tonight, and mine is just a little shorter than my stock height.

I would say that its a decent amount shorter than stock. It doesnt look tall.
But its that feel that really matters. If you just want it to look short then just cut the stock one.

If it is shorter, it isn't by much. The stock boot seems to fit normal and dropping on the stock shift knob makes everthing look stock (the part the boot sits on is the same size on the b&m).
It's defiently a shorter throw and it's a much firmer unit and a vast improvment over stock, though it won't really be much shorter, a half inch at beats is my estimation.

When you installed your did you have to drop the tranny? or could you access all the bolts through the shifter hole?

didnt drop the tranny. coming out you can get a wrench in to the front two bolts easy enough. now getting to those same two bolts with the B&M in place is a PITA I couldnt really do it and I was using a ratcheting wrench. I finally jacked up the car and reached around the tranny from underneath and finger tightened them. I am of course now missing one of those bolts. if this install took me two hours an hour and a 15 minutes of that was spent trying to get those bolts in and out, 15 minutes getting tools and removing center console and 5 minutes for pictures...

hey guys thanks for all your replies. the only reason why i asked is because i have a momo shift knob and because i put it on my knob now sits higher than the little cubby hole thingy underneath the radio =\... it looks like a truck shifter.
i wanted to get a ss for its obvious benefits, but i also was hoping that it sit lower too. i dont want to have to cut the stock shifter because iirc its not good for the tranny and your throw feels very labored. i know i've seen a pic of a cut shifter before but i cant find it in the search. does... or will anyone admit to having a cut shifter? how does it feel?
does anyone know of a "shorter" shifter that also provides also provides a shorter throw?
well thanks for the help,
jayson

I had to pound the crap out of it to get it to go one (that little rubber cap thing for the knob was a tight squeeze) but it went on fine and is no taller than my regular shifter

speaking of b&m's has anyone found a way to get them to stop rattling at high rpm?
Mine's starting to bug me.

I don't have a b&m but I have the OBX short shifter and it was rattling at higher rpms. To make it stop, I just put some teflon tape around the shift knob threading and wala! no more rattle.
