HELP! Weird flickering check engine light KA24DE

OK, i have a problem with the check engine light. first of all its a 93 KA24DE. the check engine light turns on for a bit like 5-10mins while im driving then shuts off, i did the ECU test and got a 32 which is EGR, but then again the light turns on and now it flickers like crazy when im on the go, but at a dead stop on idle its off sometimes. then when i give it gas like pass idle it turns on until back on idle LOL i did the ECU test again and got a 55 which means its all good right. can someone help me out? the car drives fine and idles fine...................... HELP!!! ASAP i hate looking at the flickering check engine light lol.

Time to pull that bulb out son! It'll screw you over when you get smogged. The flickering thing sounds like the bulb or connection is loose somewhere. Can't explain the other half though.

^ yea i know but i just passed somg on the 4th of this month lol so not due for another 2 yrs or so :)

Sounds to me like you have the ECU in the 'O2 diagnostic mode'.

If you read the codes, and don;t reset them properly...you can leave the ECU in a diagnostic mode, where the CEL blinks to indicate O2 function (switching in and out of closed/open loop).

To read the codes, did you turn the screw all the way clockwise, wait ~2 seconds, then turn it back? Then read the codes, and do the same to reset.

Once you're done, the mode select screw should be turned fully counter-clockwise.

If it's not, or if you did this once more than you needed (3 cycles total)...it's still in diagnostic mode.
